Maze Backpackers - Gold Coast

I booked this place thinking it was a good deal because it mentioned dinner included. However, when I asked at check-in why it wasn't explained, I was told it had ended in December of last year. So, I ended up buying groceries at a nearby supermarket and using the kitchen. The kitchen isn't very spacious, and there weren't enough clean dishcloths. The beds in the room are basic, with no privacy curtains or dividers. You get one towel. The access is good, but you can hear the tram sounds in the room, so I wouldn't recommend it if you're sensitive to noise.

The room was really clean and the view outside was great. It's the best room I've stayed in at any hostel, hands down!!!!!

The staff were kind and courteous, and the hostel itself was very clean. It's conveniently located close to major areas like Surfers Paradise.

The front desk is quite hidden, located on the second floor of a restaurant. The staff at the front desk had a bad attitude; a dinner I had reserved was actually unavailable. The facilities in the room were poor, with a missing bed rail. The 'window view' was just a locked glass door.

I had to flee a cockroach infestation at my Airbnb apartment and ended up here out of necessity, which I didn't expect but I actually really like it! It's clean, has a comfortable bed, and everything you need is available, including a nice view from the terrace. Lots of young people come here and make good connections with each other. There's trendy lounge music. You can hear other residents talking from the terrace, but only until a reasonable hour; the terrace closes at 11 PM. I definitely recommend this hostel!
