2-Star Hotels in Surfers Paradise

I stayed here about 2 weeks in early Jan. I got a bed next to a balcony in a 6 beds room which gave me little extra privacy. The room was cleaned fine throughout my stay. The bed was not large but comfortable with a nice mattress, light and power sockets. There is a bathroom for a toilet and a shower (not separated) for the room. So, I had to share it with 5 others when all beds were filled. Common area at the basement was pretty good for having nice furnitures. The kitchen and dining areas were cozy and spacious. You need $1 or $2 coins for laundry and dryer ($3 each). If you struggle to prepare coins, apparently there is a self-service laundry and cash dispenser nearby (I didn't try it though). Definitely confusing to find the reception for check-in. You need to walk through between The Island and a teppanyaki restaurant on Surfers Paradise Blvd.

The location is convenient for public transport and the staff is very friendly. Also, the facilities and amenities were satisfactory, and the dormitory was clean, including toilets. I would like to stay here again next time.

There is a parking lot and the location is a bit off. The key is that there is no signboard, which is particularly difficult to find. There are only a few houses in the entire yard, very spacious, but there are no lights at night, and it feels like living in the wilderness.

I booked an ensuite room a few months ago in this place and we were supposed to check in on 26/12. that didn’t happen because of covid so we went later on 28/12 (our booking was from 26/12 to 29/12). we called a hundred times to make sure they didn’t put anyone in our room as we were going to arrive there a few days later. when we got there, the guy on the reception gave us the key to our room and we realized someone was there cause there were bags in the room. after that, the same guy said these people were not supposed to be there and also said they were fully booked and he was going to talk to the manager. then, the manager came to us and said the room was double booked and they were really sorry, only thing they could do was give as a refund. I quickly checked on booking.com if there was a room for that night in Surfers Paradise and all the places were double or even triple the price we were supposed to pay on Backpackers in Paradise. so I started arguing with the manager cause only a refund was not enough, we had booked the room months before that and they simply come to us saying there was nothing they could do, really annoying and disrespectful. good thing was the blonde lady at the reception that came up with an idea to call someone that was supposed to check in the night before asking if they would come so we stayed there for the night (in a room completely different than the one we booked in the first place). we asked for a refund and they agreed. They gave us a refund on 03/01 and on 26/02 they charged $270 from my account without my permission. after calling booking.com a hundred times, we still haven’t got the money back cause they say the hostel don’t authorize the refund. this is really serious. we stayed there in december, then in february they charge money from my bank account and now they don’t wanna give him the money back. besides all that, terrible place to stay. bad management and dirty rooms

Very good location opposite the beach. If going on a day when there is a market, the market will be opposite the hotel. The room that was on the 10th floor saw a very clear view of 90 degrees. The overall picture was better than expected. Quite impressive, the room is spacious, the equipment in the room is quite complete, there is a dryer, iron, hanger, kettle, refrigerator, microwave, TV, heater, bar of soap (2 bars), shampoo (1 bottle), items that are not provided, conditioner, towel, drinking water and tissues. in the room There is no cleaning service or changing clothes (have to pay extra). We went to stay for 3 days, the last day we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel. Walking from the tram may be a bit far, but in exchange for the beach front location, it's okay. There are shopping malls and restaurants nearby. When we went, we got it at a relatively cheap price compared to nearby hotels. Recommended 👍🏻

So, we booked 18 nights in this 3.5 star resort and the from the photos it looked very reasonable for the price. However, this has been the worst place we have ever stayed in. 1. Room was not serviced for our entire stay, even though the resort policy is longer stays are serviced every 7th day. We have been responsible for laundering the sheets and towels ans buying our own toilet paper. 2. The room wasn't clean to start with, dust on most surfaces including the ceiling and curtains 3. Room in serious state of disrepair and looks like it hasn't seen a paint brush since it was built. 4. We booked a garden view room. Not much of a garden to view and only meters from the drive and carpark. The main contents of the garden are cigarette butts from the filthy pig living in the room above 5. We tried sitting on the patio for breakfast, however this was interrupted by ash and cigarette butts raining down from above. 6. The room has no personality, prison cells we've seen in movies look more appealing. 7. Mattress on the bed is stuffed and should have been replaced years ago. I definitely will never recommend this place as it seems the owners are more interested in collecting the money than making sure what they're offering is worth it

Our party is 8 people. This hotel has nothing to do. It is a motel, but it is enough to sleep. It is very clean and tidy. There are three people.
