Ambassador Martin's luxurious service was exceptional—from a thoughtful welcome at check-in, special arrangements and local recommendations at the restaurant, to a warm farewell upon departure, every detail showed genuine care. The hotel's courtyard gardens offered picturesque views with every step, showcasing the elegant charm of Jiangnan amidst small bridges and flowing water. Our room was bright and spotless, and the bedding was incredibly soft and comfortable. The dining was equally impressive: the breakfast buffet had a rich variety, and the Suzhou-style noodle soup had a wonderfully authentic broth. At Baiyun Restaurant, the crab roe tofu and steamed white fish were fresh and delicious, each dish a testament to exquisite craftsmanship. Martin's warmth, the gardens' elegance, and the delicious food all combined to create a five-star memory.

Facilities: The hotel is new and well-equipped. The only downside is that the grounds are still under construction, so there are more workers than guests. Hygiene: Very clean. Environment: Beautiful surroundings, like a large garden. Service: The butler service was warm and attentive. Definitely worth staying again.

The hotel environment is excellent, and there are even some small animals. The room facilities and hygiene are very good, making it a reassuring stay when traveling with elderly family members and children. The overall service at the hotel is fantastic, with every staff member having a great attitude. It's a high-end hotel. A special thank you to our butler, YCL FD (WeChat name), for their attentive and on-call service. You can also take a boat directly to your room, which is an incredible experience. Facilities: I came here specifically for the boat access and private hot springs. The room with the boat dock faces east, which was perfect for soaking in the hot springs while watching the sunrise! The room was incredibly cozy, the bedding was extremely comfortable, and the mini-bar had a wide variety of items. Since it was my birthday, I was upgraded to a suite, and the Japanese-style tatami tea room was very interesting! Activities: The entire hotel was filled with a pleasant fragrance. There were plenty of indoor and outdoor activities to enjoy, like lighting incense, making tea, and reading – perfect for a relaxing getaway. I'd heard great things about the spa, and it definitely lived up to the hype. Next to the spa, there's a collaborating gallery featuring two intriguing exhibitions, and the souvenirs were also quite unique. Plus, the weather was beautiful during my stay, and I really enjoyed borrowing bikes from Yueliu to cycle around! Service: Absolutely exceeded expectations! The front desk butler was very responsive. As it was my birthday, they not only set up a lovely decoration and provided a delicious cake, but several staff members wished me a happy birthday when I encountered them, which was a wonderful surprise! Tina from the spa area was very warm and straightforward, giving me lots of great recommendations, and we had a fantastic chat. Dining: Dining is probably this hotel's weak point. Breakfast was mediocre. The Baiyun restaurant wasn't open, so I went to Yueliu, and while the food tasted pretty good, it was low value for money – definitely high-end 'agritourism' style. However, the ambiance of both restaurants was superb, and on a sunny day, eating breakfast outdoors while petting cats was incredibly pleasant!

Had a few minor issues during my stay, but the staff were incredibly responsive. Someone even came to help out in the middle of the night, which was amazing! Overall, a fantastic experience and definitely a place I'd recommend and come back to. Seeing the staff's smiles was truly heartwarming! Highly recommend!!

The breakfast was plentiful; upon entering, the staff patiently guided us through the food stations. The variety of bread was appealing and delicious. Special mention goes to Ambassador Martin, who truly exemplified 'top-tier service.' Before we even had to ask, he anticipated our needs and had everything ready. What's even more impressive is how he subtly met our every small request without being intrusive—like offering an umbrella promptly on a rainy day or quietly noting dietary restrictions during meals. This exceptional dedication to guest experience made our entire vacation flawless. This feeling of being truly cared for, his proactive, attentive, and enthusiastic service, far exceeds the room rate itself. The hotel environment is equally captivating: the Suzhou-style garden paths are winding and secluded, offering beautiful scenery in every season. The rooms are spacious and bright, spotless, and fully equipped for comfort. The Baiyun Restaurant is a culinary delight: the crab roe tofu is fragrant and fresh, and the steamed white fish is tender and smooth. For breakfast, the Suzhou-style red soup noodles have a rich broth, and the dim sum is exquisite and delicious. Martin's warmth, combined with the hotel's elegance and exquisite food, truly makes it feel like coming home.

Banyan Tree and the adjacent Dhawa share communal areas, making the entire property very enjoyable to explore. The facilities are independent, offering better privacy. The hotel provides butler service, and our room was specially upgraded. We even got to arrive by boat, which made for a great overall experience. The only thing to note is that there are a lot of mosquitoes, especially near the riverside, so be sure to bring plenty of repellent.

My stay at Banyan Tree Yangcheng Lake was a distinctive experience, with both its pros and cons being quite prominent. Upon check-in, I was able to upgrade my basic room type by two levels to a lakeside room. What stood out the most was the unique way of getting to the room: a boat ride directly from the pier next to the lobby. This entrance truly enhanced the resort vibe. However, since the lakeside rooms are built by the waterside pavilions, the watery environment meant a higher number of mosquitoes, so mosquito repellent is a must. The hotel's overall layout and design are quite unique and innovative, but its location is rather secluded, tucked away in a corner. There are very few amenities nearby; apart from Huangluo Temple, there are virtually no other attractions. Outside of the hairy crab season, there are almost no restaurants around, meaning all three meals pretty much have to be eaten at the hotel. Luckily, the Banyan Tree is connected to the Dhawa, so guests can choose to dine at either restaurant, which somewhat alleviates the issue of limited dining options. Compared to Banyan Tree Shishan, the entertainment experience here is less impressive. The in-house recreational facilities are quite limited; there's no sound bowl experience, and the scented candle DIY activity costs 198 yuan, which is significantly higher than the 68 yuan at the Shishan branch. Furthermore, the spa prices here vary between weekdays and more expensive weekends/holidays, whereas Banyan Tree Shishan has a uniform price, making this feel less value-for-money. Of course, the hotel also has many highlights. The breakfast quality is excellent, with great ingredients and taste. The staff members are very friendly, especially an elderly Suzhou local waiter who was particularly warm and dedicated. The overall service response was prompt, almost always fulfilling requests, making the service experience very pleasant. It's a very comfortable place for a quiet, relaxing short getaway.

For our wedding anniversary this year, I chose the Banyan Tree Yangcheng Lake, a hotel I'd been wanting to visit. Every corner of the hotel offered picturesque views, with charming spots to pause and enjoy. The hotel also went above and beyond for our stay; our room was upgraded two levels, and we even got to check in by boat, which was a wonderful touch. The service was impeccable – all staff members were incredibly polite, proactively greeting guests with friendly smiles and hellos. The hotel breakfast was quite good, a semi-buffet with a menu for à la carte orders. A big thank you to our hotel butler for their warm welcome and thoughtful service. We look forward to staying again!

Mediocre at best. I've noticed that Banyan Tree resorts in China aren't what they used to be, and this one is no exception. Unless you have a very specific reason, don't bother. There were a lot of bugs, and the service was lacking. The hotel's occupancy fluctuates wildly with the seasons, which means they don't have a consistent service staff; it felt very understaffed. We ate at the Baiyun Chinese restaurant – over 1000 RMB for two adults and one child – not only was it expensive, but the food was just average, and there were only two servers. To top it all off, my wife got bitten by bed bugs. We definitely won't be returning.

Initially, I thought all room types included a boat check-in experience, but I found out upon arrival that it's only available for specific room categories. Check-in was smooth, and the front desk staff proactively upgraded me to a lake view room with a private hot spring on the second floor, offering a great view. The room was very spacious, and the first round of the minibar was complimentary, including soda water and fizzy drinks. It also came with a capsule coffee machine and various teas. The incense sticks provided each day had a different scent; on Thursday, it was lavender, which was subtly fragrant and helped with sleep. The private hot spring was on the balcony. I didn't notice anything while soaking at night, but in the morning, I saw a lot of impurities at the bottom, indicating it wasn't very clean. The hygiene definitely needs improvement. Breakfast was decent. You could also choose to dine outdoors, where there were umbrellas, and having breakfast with a lake view felt wonderful. I added the butler on WeChat upon check-in, and their service was excellent. They responded promptly, almost instantly, which I was very pleased with. I would definitely come back to experience the boat check-in room type if I get the chance.

A perfect family and friends gathering! Arriving by boat was such an amazing experience, the kids absolutely loved it. The hotel's environment is elegant and comfortable, with a delightful Jiangnan garden design that's a joy to behold. The staff were warm and professional. Overall, our stay was incredibly comfortable and satisfying! We'll definitely choose Banyan Tree again next time we're in Suzhou.
