We stayed at the Marriott for two days during the Chinese New Year holiday to visit Peninsula Park. I chose it right away because it's a well-known brand I trust. The hotel environment is lovely, with fresh air, and our room overlooked a lake not far away. I particularly enjoyed the moon and jade rabbit themed decorations on the lawn.
There's also a crab-themed non-powered play area for kids, which is great for them to burn off some energy.
The breakfast spread was excellent, definitely a cut above other hotels in the same category.
All the staff members at the hotel were very polite and greeted guests whenever they saw them.
As for areas for improvement, the bed was too soft and the pillows were too high. The room was also too warm; it seems the central air conditioning controls the temperature, making the in-room control panel purely decorative? I didn't sleep well the first night, but it was much better once I adjusted on the second night.
The evening fireworks only lasted five minutes, which was a bit disappointing for the kids.
I want to give a special shout-out to our butler, Lisa. She was incredibly responsive and ensured our stay was perfectly arranged.
Overall, I'm very satisfied, and I'd recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Yangcheng Lake.
