Holiday Inn Express SUZHOU DUSHU LAKE by IHG

Located near the university town, although not in a tourist area, it's very convenient to get around with the subway. There are restaurants, supermarkets, and a night market nearby. The hotel also has a gym and a laundry room.

This is a great place, I've stayed here many times. It's very close to the subway station and surrounded by many dining options, including 24-hour convenience stores. The service is excellent.

The breakfast was great, especially the authentic Suzhou noodles and the quiet dining environment.

The room facilities are new, and it's close to Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. It's about a few hundred meters from Songtaojie metro station, and there are plenty of food options nearby. There's also a Starbucks and Cotti Coffee downstairs.

The hotel is decent. The surrounding area is relatively quiet, and there's a night market about 1 km away for food. Downstairs, there are also several restaurants and coffee shops. Overall, it's good value for money and quite balanced in all aspects.

The first room had a clogged drain. I switched rooms, only to find the bathroom door in the new room was broken.

The soundproofing is absolutely terrible. The laundry room doesn't have a connected TV, so you have to keep going down to check if a machine is free. The TV remote sensor is really bad. The front desk service was just average, nothing special. The only person who seemed to be on the ball at the entire hotel was housekeeping; if you hung the 'Please Clean' sign, they'd be there in less than five minutes, always smiling. It felt like housekeeping was the only department doing anything at the whole hotel. The value for money is extremely low. My room card demagnetized itself before 2 PM when I extended my stay, forcing me to go all the way down to get it fixed. Honestly, just stay at a proper Intercontinental, don't bother with this subsidiary. It's not much of a price difference anyway.
