Crowne Plaza SUZHOU by IHG

I finally got to experience the Crowne Plaza Suzhou, and its cruise ship-like architecture is incredibly distinctive. The nighttime views by Jinji Lake are picture-perfect, no matter where you snap a photo. The location is superb; step outside and you're right on the lakeside promenade, with easy access to the Gate of the Orient and Suzhou Center – perfect for sightseeing and shopping. We stayed in a lake-view room which offered expansive views. The room itself was spacious, clean, and equipped with soft, comfortable bedding and smart, modern facilities. The breakfast buffet was extensive, offering a wide variety of Chinese and Western dishes, desserts, and seafood, all managed efficiently. All the staff members were warm and polite; check-in was efficient, and any requests were handled promptly. The heated swimming pool and kids' play area are excellent amenities, making this hotel suitable for both couples on a getaway and families with children. Choosing the Crowne Plaza for our Suzhou vacation was definitely the right call! The entire cruise ship-inspired building is super photogenic; the grand spiral staircase in the lobby and the lakeside promenade are perfect for stunning photos. The lobby bar has live piano music, and the afternoon tea is exquisitely presented and lovely for a relaxing break. The guest room lighting is soft, the bathroom has a dry/wet separation, and the toiletries are high-quality. The service is gentle and attentive, with requests handled incredibly fast. The breakfast offers a rich variety of Chinese and Western options. The lakeside pool has an amazing atmosphere – perfect for walks, photos, and relaxation, all in one place. It's an excellent choice for a staycation and has already been added to my re-booking list!

Staying at Crowne Plaza Suzhou with kids was an excellent choice for a family getaway. The 'Little Captain's Kids' Club' on the basement level is fully equipped with a ball pit, craft area, and arcade games – enough to keep the children entertained all afternoon. The hotel thoughtfully prepared kids' bathrobes, non-slip slippers, and exclusive toiletries, which was a lovely touch. Both the indoor heated pool and the outdoor lakeside pool (in summer) are great for little ones. The breakfast buffet even has a dedicated kids' dining area, and the staff proactively directed families with children to priority seating. The overall environment is safe and quiet, the service staff are patient and friendly, and the amenities are comprehensive. The location of Crowne Plaza Suzhou is simply unbeatable in the Jinji Lake area. You can step right out onto the lakeside promenade, walk five minutes to the Gate of the Orient subway station, and in ten minutes, you're at Suzhou Center Mall for all your shopping, dining, and movie needs. It's also very close to Ligongdi and the Cultural Arts Center, making taxi rides convenient. If you're driving, there's a free private parking lot. It's truly an oasis of calm amidst the bustling city, allowing you to experience urban vibrancy while enjoying a peaceful lake view. With attractions concentrated nearby, you save a lot of commuting time. Whether it's a short trip, a shopping spree, or a weekend city getaway, getting around is effortless and worry-free. The Landmark Cruise Hotel by Jinji Lake truly lives up to its name. Its streamlined ship-shaped architecture looks sophisticated and minimalist during the day, and when the lights come on at night, it creates a fantastic ambiance. The spiral staircase and the lobby are perfect spots for photos, where you can effortlessly capture stunning shots. The gigantic sail-shaped dome in the lobby, paired with vintage nautical decorations, creates an immersive cruise ship design that is both unique and embodies the graceful charm of Suzhou. The bedding in the rooms is comfortable, and all the facilities and amenities are well-equipped. Cecelia, one of the staff members, was incredibly warm and attentive. You can go straight down to the lakeside promenade for a leisurely stroll and enjoy the breeze, making the location absolutely impeccable. This is definitely my top choice for a vacation in Suzhou, so much so that I extended my stay!

The room layout is very well-designed, especially the bathroom. The shower, bathtub, toilet, and vanity are all separate, each occupying a corner. The bed is particularly large and high, making for a very comfortable sleep at night. The bedding feels luxurious, and the duvet is just the right thickness. You can walk out onto the balcony, which feels like being on a cruise ship, with lush greenery visible below the window. Although there's a highway nearby, the soundproofing of the windows is excellent. The gym has a wide variety of equipment, and the indoor pool is decent. However, the outdoor pool is smaller than expected and was packed with kids. Breakfast is noteworthy, with delicious desserts and a wide range of ingredients. I really hope to find a five-star hotel that caters specifically to adults, offering comfort and relaxation, rather than focusing on family-friendly amenities. The hotel is within walking distance of Suzhou Center, a massive shopping mall that was overwhelming; almost every restaurant had a queue even after 8 PM, showing its immense popularity.

Our room was meticulously cleaned, and kids' toiletries were already prepared for us. Any requests we had were handled promptly. The environment was quiet and comfortable, with no cleanliness issues whatsoever. The location is also very convenient for getting around. We stayed with our child, and when we mentioned it was their birthday, the hotel decorated the room and even provided a birthday cake! They also upgraded us to a high-floor room with a window. The service was exceptional and exceeded our expectations. It's an older five-star hotel, but the facilities and environment are still good. The hotel isn't too far from the Oriental Gate subway station either. Overall, it was a very satisfying experience.
