A very unique and memorable stay in Zhangjiajie! We stayed 2 nights in the Morning Glow King Suite Bedroom. The highlight of this homestay is its cave concept. The reception area is huge, impressive, and beautifully designed, creating a real wow factor upon arrival. The property also features a cave restaurant where breakfast is served, and dinner can be arranged with advance booking. There is also a cosy cave lounge for guests to relax. Our room was large, comfortable, and very clean. The facilities were well maintained and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. Location is excellent. The homestay is hidden behind the famous theatre performance venue but only a short walk to the main street, making it convenient while remaining quiet. Highly recommended for travellers looking for a unique accommodation experience in Zhangjiajie. The cave setting alone makes it worth staying here.

This B&B positions itself as a boutique hotel, not just a regular guesthouse. Many guests here are international tourists and discerning travelers who appreciate quality. However, because it's so close to the scenic area, it's located in a restricted zone. ⚠️ You MUST use Didi (ride-hailing app) to get directly to the B&B's doorstep. Plus, the hotel offers a 7-seater shuttle service, so transportation is a breeze for families. It's also easy to find restaurants after leaving the park, as the area around the East Gate is full of eateries. 🛏️Bathtub King Room: Refined Down to the Details We stayed in a bathtub king room. The room isn't huge but is exquisite in every detail. The bedding is comfortable, and a relaxing soak in the tub at night washes away all the day's fatigue. For the ninth season of our summer family trip, we planned a Changsha-Zhangjiajie route to explore the UNESCO World Heritage site of Zhangjiajie with my 10-year-old daughter. We scheduled a four-day, three-night itinerary in Zhangjiajie, marking my return to this area after more than a decade. After comparing several good hotels, I ultimately chose the Hilton Garden Inn, which provided a very comfortable stay and warm service for this family vacation. **Location:** The main activities planned were Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and the Charming Xiangxi show. Traveling with a child in the summer, comfort and convenience were key considerations. The hotel's location is excellent, relatively quiet and secluded, yet very convenient for getting around. It's only 2KM from the East Gate of the scenic area. Nearby dining and shopping options are also plentiful. **Environment:** I hadn't been back for over ten years, and I was surprised by how much the Wulingyuan District of Zhangjiajie has changed, with several high-end hotels now available. After comparing them, I still opted for the Hilton Garden Inn. The hotel's layout is well-designed, featuring a large garden and a fantastic outdoor pool 🏊. Every day after returning from the scenic area, my daughter would swim, while I headed to the gym 🏋️♀️, really giving it a vacation vibe 🏖️. My daughter also met many foreign children at the pool (the hotel hosted many foreign guests in the summer, from France 🇫🇷, Italy 🇮🇹, Spain 🇪🇸, Russia 🇷🇺, Germany 🇩🇪, etc., with hardly any domestic tour groups). **Room:** The rooms are all new, comfortable, and cozy, with excellent bedding. The in-room TV on-demand service was also great, with impressive picture quality. Most importantly, the smart room controls were very convenient, with one-touch switching between bright, soft, and night light modes. **Service:** The Hilton brand certainly lives up to its reputation; all the staff I encountered at the hotel were very nice. There was a small hiccup during check-in, but when I mentioned my needs, the lobby manager, Ms. Joanna, promptly helped me resolve it. The personalized butler-style service from the lovely staff during our stay was also very thoughtful. A big thumbs up 👍 to the lovely staff! Also, the breakfast staff were all very nice, even replenishing breakfast for us when we arrived late, which I greatly appreciated. **Stay Experience:** Choosing the Hilton Garden Inn for this trip was absolutely perfect. Both the room comfort and service quality were excellent, and I would definitely choose it again. It's especially wonderful for families with children during the summer; it truly feels like a vacation 🏖️ and is highly recommended to everyone. **P.S.:** I was surprised to see how popular Zhangjiajie has become internationally. I met many European friends at the hotel, scenic spots, and bars. It seems the magic of Avatar has indeed boosted Zhangjiajie's appeal. While swimming, my daughter asked a Spanish 🇪🇸 boy, ”Do you like China?” and he replied, ”I like China, China is so beautiful!” Haha 😄

I planned to tour the Glass Bridge thinking it was the same as the forest park. I had no idea the forest park was something completely unique. When we arrived at the hotel, our host explained everything about the different tours. Thanks to him, we were able to see Tianmen Mountain on the day of arrival and I changed my tour plans so that I could visit the forest park. I have never been to a hotel where they explain tours in such detail. Beyond friendly. Great service. Great breakfast. If you want an affordable place to stay that is near all the attractions, I highly recommend this hotel.

This guesthouse boasts absolutely stunning views and a beautiful, serene, and comfortable environment – truly on par with high-end luxury lodges abroad, but without the exorbitant price tag. The restaurant is also fantastic; I ate there for three days straight because the food was so good I didn't want to eat anywhere else. What really sets them apart, though, is their service. It's not the rigid, formal service you find at a five-star hotel; instead, it's incredibly thoughtful and attentive, always putting the guest's needs first. For example, if we ordered too much food, the restaurant would even proactively help us figure out how to save it for our next meal. Every other service detail was just as impressive – any request was met with a helpful response. It was such a comfortable and personalized experience. Getting to the West Gate of the Forest Park from here is also very convenient, as the guesthouse offers pick-up and drop-off services. They also provide incredibly detailed and professional advice based on your itinerary, making it completely stress-free for first-time visitors. I will definitely be back!

We booked this property through Trip.com because it was advertised as Avatar Mountain Resort, with promotional photos and social media posts showcasing spectacular mountain views. Unfortunately, our experience was quite different. The biggest issue was simply finding the hotel. None of the major local apps, including Amap and Didi, recognized the property as “Avatar Mountain Resort.” After arriving at the airport, we had to contact the hotel directly. They asked us to connect via WeChat and sent us the address in Chinese. Only then did Amap and Didi recognize the location under the name “Zhangjiajie Zhishe, Zili Holiday Minsu.” We also noticed another name displayed at the building entrance: “Z Plus Resort Inn.” Having three different names for the same property was extremely confusing and made the arrival unnecessarily stressful. The second and most disappointing issue was the misleading advertising. The stunning mountain view shown on Trip.com and the hotel’s Instagram page was nowhere to be found from our room or the property. The only view available was a distant view of mountain ranges shared with neighboring rooms. The advertised “Avatar Mountain” scenery simply did not exist from this hotel. This felt like a significant misrepresentation and was the main reason we chose to book this property. Breakfast was another letdown. We stayed for three nights, and the breakfast was exactly the same every morning with very limited variety. On one morning, we even found blue mold growing on the bread, which was unacceptable. After that, we only felt comfortable eating the freshly made omelette. That said, there were some positives. The hotel’s location is excellent, only about a five-minute walk from the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park Middle Gate. From there, it’s roughly a 12-minute shuttle bus ride to the Bailong Elevator, making it very convenient for exploring the park. The staff also deserve recognition. The front desk and concierge team were friendly, responsive, and genuinely helpful. They assisted us with purchasing park tickets, planning our itinerary, and answering our questions throughout our stay. Last but not the least, the lady outside the resort who was always selling cucumbers, hiking sticks, or raincoats. No matter the weather or the time of day, she always greeted everyone with a warm smile. It was a small gesture, but it added a genuine touch of kindness . Overall, while the location and staff were excellent, the misleading marketing about the view, the confusing hotel identity, and the poor breakfast experience significantly affected our stay. I hope Trip.com and the property update their listing to accurately represent what guests can actually expect. Travelers should not book this hotel expecting the iconic “Avatar Mountain” views shown in the advertisements. Convenience to Zhangjiajie is a plus for this location for sure though

Highly recommended!!! This homestay is located closer to South Gate of the National Park which I believe provides nicer views with much fewer crowds then the main East Gate. The room we stayed at was warmly decorated with everything you need. Shower was comfortable and it was quiet at night to sleep. We woke up to the sound of country birdsong and farm rooster, then looking out to beautiful mountain views and wildflowers blooming with crisp fresh air. The pick-up and drop off services made the whole trip so much smoother and saved us lots of time and money. The owner was super kind and helpful with planning itinerary around weather and purchasing discounted tickets for us. We managed to tick our whole list for Zhangjiajie and are extremely happy. Oh and did I mention the home-cooked farm dishes. They are sooo delicious with the freshest ingredients, at very reasonable prices for a touristy area. Must try the homemade sausages and barbecue! To be fair all of the other dishes were incredible too so you can't go wrong. They were so yummy and satisfying after a long day of hiking and adventures. If you want an true authentic local experience at great value, dont hesitate and book this place. The owner running this place is kind, attentive and most importantly trustworthy. Pet-friendly hotel, and they even upgraded my room. The location is excellent, just over a kilometer from the East Gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, surrounded by several other big hotels, and there are plenty of dining options nearby. The lobby is on the 7th floor and features a beautifully decorated rooftop terrace with several Ragdoll cats. The family room with one large and one small bed was perfect for traveling with an older child. I noticed many foreigners staying here – Zhangjiajie is really popular with international visitors!

The environment here is fantastic, with fresh air and a great location that's convenient for all the attractions, whether you're taking the bus or a Didi. We drove ourselves, and there were plenty of charging stations and parking spots available. The front desk staff were very professional and handled our check-in quickly.

We enjoyed staying here. They could help us with booking passes for the Avatar Mountains (Zhangjiajie National Park) and the Tianmen cave on Tianzi Mountain. They speak good english and cared to make sure we were settled in our room, very helpful. The room was very big clean, tidy and looked after, modern castle style. Great views of the Mountains from the balcony. We could do our own laundry free - two washers, two dryers that work very well. Easy to get to places from here. We took Didi (Uber) to Avatar Mountains East Gate entrance (45mins-1hr), cheap as chips to us ($25 NZD for a two hour trip). Easy to catch Didi back from there or anywhere! Using your phone App only, or you may get ripped off by taxis parked there. Highly recommend staying here.
