If I could copy of story book of what a fairytale is on a spring day then Swinton would be it! From our moment of arrival the staff delivered service of excellence and made us welcome. We used the spa, the new lady on reception explained the layout and provided us with robes. The spa was spotlessly clean and the gentleman looking after the natural pool was so polite and keeping things shipshape. My treatment was the cooking nitrogen facial and just perfect for my needs and I have had a lot of pressures lately and feeling puffy before and could see the difference. We walked the gorgeous woods and I don’t remember seeing a path so beautiful. Our room was clean and stunning. Sleep was perfect and we heard no noise at all other than nature. We had Sunday lunch at Samuel’s and it was nothing less than excellent. I cannot praise the staff there enough. The food was top notch and the experience was relaxing and fine. All of the diners were complementing the food. Lisa on reception booked us some on site experiences. We found Lisa to be most professional and capable and a great asset to the hotel. All in all this stay have been marvellous and it’s been a blessing to experience such a special place in its full glory. Thank you.

Swinton is an outstanding experience. Even in the eye of a big December storm, the buildings and grounds are impressive. The insides are warm, welcoming yet still sumptuous The service and food quality is second to none. We had one of the cottages so we could be together as a family for my wife’s 60th birthday. A gorgeous home from home with all the amenities on top Samuels restaurant was a particular highlight of our weekend stay. One to return too. Often!

Country house hotel,not fancy in any way, but if you would like a stay in a "stately home" with lots to do this is it.Wonderful grounds with walks in shaded woodlands,comfortable beds, nice restaurant,usual breakfast to set you up for the day,low key feel but this makes it all the more enjoyable, wished we could have stayed longer

Beautiful setting, peaceful and relaxing. Spa is very good. Food exceptional and overall most enjoyable within its elegancy without being stuffy. The bedroom was a bit warm for our liking.

Love this place. Been 4 times for couples breaks. The dine and stay packages offer decent value, when you consider how good the food is. The estate is breathtaking - both surround vista, but also the wildlife and gardens. I played at the nearby Masham Golf Club, which was easy to book and nice to play. The spa is really exceptional - fresh, indulgent and at the sometime rejuvenating. Loved the outdoor plunge pool and natural filter. Gym is well stocked and covers all the basics well. Good and drink is very well done - a seasonal menu, which changes regularly. The meals themselves are superbly well executed. My only suggestions would be to allow healthier (leaner and higher protein) options, for those who are watching weight - the current menu is all quite indulgent. All in all, a superb experience and very much looking forward to next stay.

A gift for my husband's retirement from a farming family for whom he has done work for several years. A great surprise when we opened the envelope which contained the voucher. Booking was easy and the staff involved very friendly and helpful. As our stay was for a special occasion, our room was upgraded by the hotel and it was fabulous. The Terrace restaurant food was delicious and the staff were excellent. We enjoyed our brief stay very much and felt quite spoilt.
