Just stayed here with shearings , lovely location and the food was really nice. The hotel has been recently renovated but has some original features like stained glass windows on the stairs which are really impressive. No lift so consider if you need this before booking. Staff are helpful and courteous.

Needed a short overnight break and decided upon Tinto Hotel as my wife and I wanted to walk in nearby Tinto Hill the next day - next mean feat! We got a really excellent deal of £57.50pp for B&B and £25 towards evening meal. The hotel was really quiet - which suited us just fine. Room very comfortable, a nice few cool drinks in the garden and a really nice meal at night. Food is pretty rustic, good size portions and good drinks menu. You pre order breakfast and, again, good size portions with good quality food. My only minor gripe was that there was a gluten free bread option on the menu but none on the day so perhaps get a loaf and freeze it as it will be toasted anyways. Finally, a special mention to Jade who certainly put some graft over the day! She served behind the bar, in the dining room and even fixed my WiFi issue! Highly recommended!

Called in for a late lunch on our way home from a wee afternoon drive. Had heard the Tinto was open again and decided to give it a go. We hadn't booked and called in on the off chance. The staff were polite, courteous and friendly. We were offered a table in the dining room or in the garden in the sunshine. We chose to sit in the sunshine. We ate from the light bites menu. Hubby chose Cullen skink as it's his favourite as a starter. The soup itself was thick and creamy and full of flavour. He said it was delicious. I didn't have a starter. Hubby then had the tuna and red onion toasted sandwich which came with red cabbage slaw, salad and crisps. I had the cheese, pepper and caramelised red onion toasted sandwich which came with the same sides. We drank a glass of diet coke each. It was presented well and was a decent portion. Used to frequent the Tinto regularly years ago. Lovely to see it's still going. We will be back🤗

We had booked an Elton John tribute/Overnight stay with dinner and can honestly say that it was excellent in all respects. Very friendly receptionist and a beautiful ,sunny ensuite room (No 11) overlooking the gardens.A super comfy king size bed and cool white Egyptian cotton bedding meant we had a relaxing sleep.Top quality toiletries provided too.The 3 course dinner was expertly served by some very young but efficient waiting staff. The sea bream and lemon cheesecake were delicious. The fellow who was 'Elton John' was excellent although the backing music was just on the loud side. The following morning's breakfast was a 'help yourself' one with a wide choice of cooked food or cereal/yoghurt/toast etc all supervised by 2 very friendly and helpful waitresses. All in all we had a much needed break at the Tinto Hotel and if asked what was outstanding,I'd say the staff who went above and beyond to make our weekend an absolute joy. We'll be back !

Took my mother to Afternoon Tea this afternoon. First time at the Tinto Hotel. The decor was lovely, very country house style. Staff were friendly and attentive. I have had a few afternoon teas at various hotel and I would describe the Tinto Hotel’s as nice but basic. The sandwiches were tasty. Lovely fresh bread cut into large finger slices of egg mayonnaise, tuna mayonnaise, cheese and onion and ham and cheese. Accompanied by a small sausage roll and scones, cream and jam (some kind of cherry jam?) Also some tray bake basic style cakes of caramel shortbread, tiffin, chocolate Rice Krispie slice and a nice shortbread custard biscuit. The food was lovely and tasty however as my mum said, ‘it would be nice if we had a slice of cake’ such as a Victoria sponge or fairy cake. Other Afternoon Teas I have been to had a slice of quiche or savoury pastry. I was a nice afternoon but I won’t be rushing back for their Afternoon Tea deal.

Bed was comfy but a bit of a hazard seeing as it was a double mattress on a king size bed frame, ended up with a good few bruises on my legs with walking into the frame. The bathroom was tiny and really couldn't sit on the toilet as the shower screen at one side and the wall on the other didn't leave much room ...just glad the heated towel rail wasn't working or there could have been a few burns. The hotel has underwent substantial refurbishment but a lot of issues that have been overlooked and not all rooms are of this standard. Breakfast was buffet style but the food itself wasn't very hot even though my husband and I were quite early for breakfast, bar prices were inflated for the weekend

It’s a very friendly hotel staff are amazing and the food is fantastic. I always sleep really well and the beds are sooooo comfortable. I go to this hotel nearly every time I go to Scotland over the last 3 years and have never had a bad experience. I highly recommend this property. The carpark is huge plenty big enough for my ranger and trailer. And they also gave EV charging points
