The room is as described and shown on the pictures. I gave a 4 for cleanliness as on first night, I found hairs on the bed & a hole on the bath towel. I reported to the staff via LINE (in Taiwan they use mainly LINE to communicate). They quickly took action and offered to change the bedsheets and clean the room. As I stayed for a week, they scheduled a housekeeping on day 4 of my stay. The soundproofing is not the best but if needed earplugs are provided in the room.
It was the winter in Taiwan when I was there so having a hot shower is important and the hot water is available. I like that there is water dispenser at each room level, rubbish and recycling bins are located outside so it is convenient.
The location of the inn is about 15 minutes walk from the Taichung Train Station. If you are carrying large luggage, advise to take a Uber. It is near to 一中街 (yizhong street) where you can find many shops, food, etc. From the inn, cutting through the open space carpark, you will be at the shopping area.
As a female solo traveller, at the start I was a bit concerned of the location of the inn. The entrance to the inn is in a alley, next to a bistro bar. You need the access card to enter the inn so that is find, just make sure it is lock after you enter. The front desk only operates from 11 am - 10:30 pm. There is an emergency hotline number to call for afterhour service. Using LINE to communicate with them is easy.
There's a cafe next to the inn where you can have breakfast with discount by showing your room card. If you want to travel to places, there are many buses. If not, it is easy to get Uber. For first time traveller to Taichung, he/she will not be aware that toilet paper cannot be thrown into the toilet bowl, so it is good to have a sign to show that.
Overall, the staff are friendly and helpful. For the price, it is value for money.
