Room had a musky/mouldy smell. Windows can't even be opened to air out the room. My throat started feeling funny within 5 minutes of being in the room. The bed had a funny stain. Mould can be seen on the ceiling. Absolutely ridiculous that this place is a 5* hotel, completely unliveable.

You can tell this was a 4-star hotel once upon a time, but it has definitely aged. The room felt old and tardy, needing a significant refresh. However, there are still some nice lingering touches, like the Crabtree & Evelyn shower gel provided in the bathroom. The location is excellent for exploring—it's near several bus stops that connect you to various places around the city. For food, skip the hotel and head to the ********* breakfast spot right opposite the entrance

Convenient location - with all sorts of stores around the vicinity. Tried the massage place across the street ( it was superb) and great beef noodles stall + boba tea all within walking distance. The hotel is nice and clean with a robotic cocktail bar in the lobby, and Starbucks too!

Families, please don't fall for the 5-star reviews, they're all fake. When checking out, there were several boxes of coffee next to the counter, and you'd get a 5-star review for taking one. As soon as I opened the room door, there was a strong smell of mold. Also, there was only one switch for the entire room, and when you turned it off, only the bathroom light stayed on – no nightlights or anything like that. The room wasn't clean either; there was a lot of dust on the bedside lamp. There were also strange yellow stains on the duvet cover, and the mirror faced directly towards the bed, so you could see yourself as soon as you sat up. I was very uncomfortable during my two-day stay at the hotel, having nightmares every night. I wouldn't stay here again even if they paid me.

1. Seriously, Trip.com, what gives you the confidence to rate (The Feng Jia Hotel) five diamonds? 2. The hotel's main glass door lacks anti-collision markings, and the lobby is a mess. 3. The wallpaper in the room is peeling everywhere. 4. There are no power outlets by the bed, and the value for money is terrible. When I asked the front desk for a power strip, they gave me a whole list of conditions. 5. The breakfast area is dirty, and the service is poor. The room's location was very convenient, but the facilities were quite old. The soundproofing was terrible; you could hear conversations from the next room. They eventually moved us to another room, which solved the problem.

Hotel room equip with a huge bathtub suitable for couples, a great experience👍 However, the location is quite far from Taichung HSR and 20mins walk from nearest City Hall MRT. but just a short taxi ride to Ningxia Night Market.

I chose this hotel after reading many positive recent reviews, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. • The staff member who checked us in was quite rude, leaving a poor first impression. • The hotel feels outdated and still uses physical keys. • My parents stayed in Block A, which has been renovated and is noticeably better, but the rest of the property shows its age. • Breakfast was underwhelming — limited food choices and guests are expected to clear their own plates. • There is a Starbucks in the lobby, but it only opens at 10 a.m., which is inconvenient for early risers. This is just my honest opinion based on my stay. That said, if you are lucky enough to get a room in Block A, the experience is much better with card access and newer facilities. Service quality seems to depend on the staff — while some were unfriendly, others were pleasant and helpful. Perhaps still worth a try if you manage to secure the renovated rooms. Good luck :)

The second stay. Well located and accessibly by MRT. The room is clean and tide with basic amenities. The hotel is supporting the environment. Bring own toiletries. Like the check in setting that comes in 3 individual receptions and this gives a classy good standard of service from the good old time.

My family and I changed about 3-4 hotels on our Taiwan trip this time and this hotel impressed us the most. Huge beds and clean interior. Really pleasant staffs as well. Only weird quirk was not providing some form of hand soap. Still, a 10/10 hotel and there isn’t any place I’d rather stay the next time I visit Taichung!

This hotel, no longer part of the Landis system, is truly a disaster, I don't understand how it can still call itself a five-star hotel. The original investment must have been huge; the hotel's decor and specifications are indeed five-star, but it hasn't been well-maintained. The floors are dirty, the marble in the bathroom is deteriorated and stained, and a large clump of hair suddenly appeared, which was really off-putting. From the moment I entered, I didn't see a single staff member smile. Besides the outdated facilities, the worst part is the complete lack of care from management. The most important thing for a hotel is to allow guests to get a good night's sleep. The pillows were the worst kind of high pillows, and they even bounced back, making it impossible to sleep soundly. Even our child woke up with a stiff neck. I was already exhausted, but due to the overall environment and the pillows, I didn't fall asleep until 4-5 AM. This has never happened to me in any hotel before. Even Hanting's cleanliness is better than this place... What was once gracefully aging has become dirty and pathetic. No wonder the room rates are like this. Such a good location and its past good reputation have been completely ruined!
