The Theatre Tainan ChengGong

This is an excellent hotel! The service is professional and the facilities are brand new and spotless. Once you check in, you won't want to leave. The location is fantastic too, with a morning market within walking distance. Downstairs, there's a lounge where you can enjoy coffee and afternoon tea. I'll definitely stay here again next time. It's a great value for money! And if the weather's nice, you can even borrow bicycles to get around.

Located on Chenggong Road, right in front of Tainan Railway Station, this hotel seems to be an old one that's been renovated. For the price, the convenient location, and a room that even has a bathtub (albeit a small one), there's really nothing to complain about.

The staff's attitude isn't bad; in fact, they're quite friendly. The room decor is a bit dated, but it's not dirty, so I won't complain. The air conditioner is as loud as a hairdryer, but I can tolerate that too. The old-style room key cards often demagnetize, but even that's not a huge issue. However, my experience with the laundry was truly the worst. Firstly, there's no proper laundry room; they just put a washer and dryer on the top-floor terrace, which I imagine would be unusable during a typhoon. Each wash costs 60 NTD, plus 10 NTD for detergent, making it 70 NTD per load. The dryer is even worse, at 10 NTD for just 7 minutes. This feels more expensive than coin laundries in Tokyo—it's an absolute rip-off. I will definitely not be returning.

The hotel's location is super convenient! It's right next to Tainan Station, so it's really easy to get to. However, there's no parking, which is a bit inconvenient.

The room was very clean and spacious enough, with plenty of room to open our luggage. The bathroom had good water pressure and temperature. The bed was quite soft, so if you prefer a firm mattress, you might want to consider other options. The air conditioning kept the room cool, but the windows didn't seem to be sealed very well, as we could hear the rain at night. The location is a bit far from the train station, about a 10-minute walk, or a NT$130 taxi ride.

The room isn't huge, but it's fine for 1-2 people. It's not far from Tainan Railway Station, about a 10-minute walk. You can easily walk to the National Museum of Taiwan Literature, Tainan Art Museum, Hayashi Department Store, and Mitsukoshi from here. If you walk a few dozen meters to the right after leaving the hotel, there's a convenience store. To the left, there's a restaurant, which is cheaper than the Tainan Grand Hotel.

The hotel's location is super convenient, it's a great 10-minute walk to the station, and nearby attractions are all within walking distance. The room was new and very clean, but the toilet flush wasn't great; you couldn't throw toilet paper in, and it often took 3 or more flushes to clear everything, which was a bit awkward when staying with friends. The shower head also wasn't very powerful; if you adjusted the temperature to be slightly hotter, the water pressure would become very weak. The hairdryer wasn't strong enough either; even on the highest setting, it took ages to dry my hair.

This hotel is conveniently located near the TRA station. The cleanliness is acceptable. However, the room is quite small, which might be an issue for travelers with a lot of luggage as there might not be enough space.
