Old Man Captain Hostel

The hotel's location is super convenient, right above the train station. You'll find the hotel entrance inside the FamilyMart convenience store. The reception is on the second floor, and the staff's English is very fluent.

Stayed in Tainan for two days, and this hostel is conveniently located right next to the train station inside a convenience store. There are many scooter rental shops nearby, and if you don't have a ********* driver's license, you can rent an electric scooter. The accommodation itself was pretty good. Since it was hot, the dorm had a big fan blowing, which made it cool and comfortable.

Great for solo travelers, but I recommend packing light as there's no elevator.

The accommodation is practical, essential, and clean. It's quite a unique experience that the entrance is inside a Family Mart; you go down the stairs and you're right in the convenience store, haha, definitely very convenient. On the other hand, its proximity to the station might be an issue for some – lots of people, constant coming and going, and noisy. The property offers 24/7 self-service coffee/tea packets. You can even make your own breakfast with bread, butter/jam/chocolate, etc. The idea of small events organized in the common room is a nice touch. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

Great location right by the station. Was a bit surprised to enter the hotel through a FamilyMart, but a kind person guided me to the front desk. Heard Tainan Station is being redeveloped, so its convenience might change in the future.

The hotel entrance is inside a Family Mart, which made it a bit hard to find. The facilities are quite old, but the location is super convenient – right downstairs you have a train station, taxis, and convenience stores. The atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly. I also participated in a brownie-making activity, and it was a fun, hands-on experience!
