Chaiin Hotel - Dongmen Reviews

A good size for a solo traveller, right above the train station and many YouBike rental spots. Staff are available at all times. And one plus point, there’s a laundry room. Two small issues: the light in the bathroom can’t be turned off, and the wifi is quite poor if you want to do conference calls.

The hotel's location is excellent, right next to Dongmen MRT station, making transportation incredibly convenient! Yongkang Street is just across the road, with plenty of delicious food and unique shops within easy walking distance. The room was spotlessly clean, and the overall stay was very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and provided excellent service, which made me feel very welcome. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to Taipei; I'm sure you'll have a pleasant stay!

location is near train station exit and yongkang street, that's the only good point. but in terms of overall location convenience, I found staying around taipei main station to be more convenient. there is no lobby, it is just a small reception desk, so there is no place for you to sit and rest before checkin or after checkout. room itself is abit small, overall in room facilities just seem really old. the toilet is frosted glass and semi transparent and in full view from the bed. so it is very awkward if you are staying with someone else. thankfully I was alone. housekeeping is only at fixed timing 3-5pm, not very convenient if your schedule doesn't match their housekeeping hours. the biggest problem for me was cleanliness. cleanliness was poor standard. there was a notice in the toilet which says not to flush the tissue. and on the day of checkin, the bin in the toilet was not emptied! the toilet rubbish from the previous guest was still there, you can imagine how gross it was. the kettle was dirty, and there was some kind of flying insect or mosquito in the room. the carpets also did not seem to be very clean. I had fully lost confidence in the cleanliness of the hotel if they can forget to empty the bin in the toilet, and together with all the other cleanliness issues. all front desk could say was thanks for feedback and sorry for the inconvenience. they offered to ask housekeeping to clean it again but I had lost all confidence in their housekeeping and cleanliness standards. front desk refused a refund of the remaining nights citing the cancellation policy, I checked out anyway after just one night and had 3 unused nights left. I couldn't continue to stay in a hotel with such poor cleanliness standards, which to me is the basic requirement of any hotel.

Excellent location just located at dongmen mrt exit 8 with lift. Behind the hotel is a lively local morning market with plenty of food choices. Room size is rather small but guess that is the norm in taipei city centre.

The location is excellent! The hotel is right above MRT Exit 8, which has an elevator, so no worries about luggage. Dongmen Market is just behind the hotel and it's bustling in the mornings.

The hotel's location is superb, right next to Exit 8 of Dongmen Station, and very close to Yongkang Street. It's also super convenient for Ding Tai Fung, so much so that you can easily pop back to the hotel for a rest in the middle of your day and then head back out! The breakfast was also very thoughtful, with lots of vegetarian options, which was much appreciated. The ingredients were fresh too! On the downside, the ventilation and lighting in both the room and bathroom were not great. The bathroom's glass door doesn't go all the way to the top, which raises some minor privacy/hygiene concerns. Also, the air conditioning vent in the room blows directly onto the head of the bed.

Super basic but did the job as it s right next to Dongmen station exit 8 (post office). The location is impeccable and service was basic. But we were happy with breakfast options that they offered. Kitchen staffs were so lovely also so thump up for them!

Excellent location, right next to Dongmen MRT station, restaurants and parks nearby. Very clean hotel, friendly and welcoming staff, very comfortable bed mattress, overall great experience. Rooms were a bit on the smaller side but not a big issue. Would be good to have a chest of drawers included on the room.

Great location, very close to Dongmen MRT. Laundry service is good, especially the dryer and also cheap.

Hotel just next to metro station very convenient hotel room is very clean nd tidy

To be frank, this hotel felt more like a hostel at first, but the amenities were way better than expected. I had a pleasant three-night stay. The room was clean, and the location is incredibly convenient, right next to Dongmen MRT Station with plenty of great restaurants nearby. I would definitely stay here again on a future trip to Taipei. The only downside is that the walls are quite thin, so you can easily hear noise from the hallway. If you’re a light sleeper, that's definitely something to keep in mind.

The location is incredibly convenient, right behind Dongmen Market, which offers a ton of snacks. The room was clean and odor-free, and the staff were really friendly. The breakfast selection was diverse, including ********* egg pancakes, turnip cake, and ********* milk tea.

The location is superb. Just next to the dongmen station which make us feel so so lucky to choose this hotel after a day of walking and shopping
