KDM HOTEL

Zhongxiao Dunhua Commercial Circle Taipei|0.47km from Zhongxiao Road
Before my trip, I did a good survey of hotels in Taipei, and we have read about hotels that are well received by guests online. When I got off the bus from the airport ($135, the company shuttle bus you have to know that it stopped opposite the Kaitong Hotel. I remember he called Changlong) the first impression of the hotel was not very good. First of all, the hotel is adjacent to some construction projects and its front porch feels very old. I don’t know if these buildings are for the new wing or the building next door to the hotel. The lobby/reception area is small and dark. I don’t even remember if I saw a couch/waiting area. I told myself not to pay too much attention to these details, the important thing is that there is a subway station next to the hotel. Our room (deluxe room, the three of us also added an extra bed) was very retro. I guess they cleaned up very clean, but you can still see how old the hotel and the room are. Except that the room was a bit old, what bothered me was that there was no safe in the room. I called the front desk and they told me that I could put things downstairs and there was a safety cabinet at the front desk. Now I can't remember where the last hotel I stayed in without a safe was there, maybe it's not a big deal for many people/most people, but I feel it's outdated and very inconvenient. Next, when we wanted to charge the digital camera, we found that there was no free socket except to unplug the hair dryer! If we both wanted to charge at the same time (say, mobile phones), we had to unplug the TV!! Now I find this to be crazy. Breakfast (we went there at about 9 o'clock, breakfast served until 9:45) and the food that served us was very poor. There were a few porridges (there weren't many side dishes left), and a few fried things I didn't eat because they were really offering something that needed to be improved. My companion and I were eating quietly, and we were all thinking, ”Oh my God... this is what's called great,” and it was the fastest breakfast we had during our holiday. All of this should be borne by me as this is my second trip to Taipei and my companions are here for the first time and we are here on holiday looking for a decent, comfortable enough 3 star hotel. Nor is it that I do not recommend Kaitong Hotel at all, because the hotel is near the subway station (Zhongxiao Xinsheng) is a good choice for some people who want to save money for taxis (although it doesn't cost much to take a taxi in the city). I guess the final conclusion is that if you have extra money and want to return to a nice, comfortable hotel after a day of shopping/bar/sightseeing, you better stay at other, more fashionable hotels. If you are the kind of hotel that is not very demanding, you are looking for a bath, clean enough to look new or old, then Kaitong Hotel is a good choice for you. Also, the next day, Taipei Fullerton 315 called us - some customers cancelled their booking at the last minute so they had a room available. We changed hotels that day. For the next three days, we were tired from shopping and our arms were soft, and the three of us were lucky we changed hotels. We were so tired from the day we broke our waists, and our return to such a comfortable hotel made us all cry with joy.

TAIPEI 101

Le Meridien Taipei

Le Meridien Taipei

Xinyi District/Taipei 101 Taipei|0.62km from TAIPEI 101
Hotel is located in the glamorous district of Xinyi. It’s in walking distance to fancy malls and 101 building. From the pictures of the rooms, you can see the hotel has moderately aged but still decently maintained. It’s functional and bright but does not fully adhere to the chic Le Meridien vibe. I wish the management can redesign the hotel to suit it more to the brand during next revamps. My SNA got approved to the junior suite and thank you to the team for assigning a corner suite for my stay. It is the same size as the regular suite but closer to look at the 101 building. However it may have some noise from the bar right outside and some events down on the street. Luckily it only lasted until before 11pm which is totally reasonable. The bathroom however, is gigantic. It’s nearly too big that wasted some space. I do not like the breakfast option in this hotel as it does not taste good. The options are not that much and most are really mediocre. I hope they can improve their F&B if I visit next time. The lounge is also very small. It’s easily full and the bar /snack area is tiny, same as the Renaissance. The lackluster food and self served cocktails are a let down for the premium price tag, pricing at almost the same as the W nearby. The pool is big and good for lap swims. However, I believe there are many locals joining the health club in the hotel which makes the already tiny hot bath area cramped and wet towels everywhere. People are also taking so loudly which kills the vibe. I immediately walked out as it is not relaxing at all. All in all despite the letdowns, I still think it is worth a visit due to its location, functional rooms and friendly service.

May Rooms Taipei NTU

Taipei|0.73km from National Taiwan University
2.24 National Taiwan University LTTC CFA level I CBT EXAM 1⃣️Close to National Taiwan University, it is really convenient for National Taiwan University of Science and Technology to go to National Taiwan University for interviews and exams. 2⃣️The room is small and the picture given by Ctrip. The photo of the room is completely inconsistent. The room is very small and even I live with a double bed. 3⃣️The boss said that the building is old ant nest You can’t clean it up. Don’t eat in the room. It’s only when you arrive at the hotel. 4⃣️Seriously close to the locomotive on the roadside, my room is terrible... I don’t know why I was so unlucky. I have been preparing for the CFA for eight or nine months. Because of the hotel, I only slept for three or four hours the night before the test, which was a heavy-duty two-session test in the morning and afternoon. I completely failed in this garbage hotel, or the room on the side of the main road just close to Keelung Road. The windows are extremely bad. I heard the sound of the locomotive for two days. In fact, the perfect and complete test schedule was completely ruined in this bad hotel (mainly because the sound of the locomotive can’t sleep at all) 5⃣️I had a room before I left. Video to confirm the habit of items, such as video; 6⃣️There are no decent tables, 7⃣️To sum up, the first room is not as small as the picture expected, and the double room is small and pitiful; the second is close to the locomotive and the roadside is seriously pitted and the third is even basic desk and chair There is no fourth place. It is not deceptive. The 8⃣️ video is very convenient for the exam. The sound of the video is the sound of the locomotive. Whether it is the hotel itself or not, it is not recommended for people who need sufficient rest for the exam, especially on the second floor. The room is extremely dangerous. Close to the road is a few rooms on my side. The double room is so small and the locomotive noise is almost all day (there are rooms on the ground floor and the first floor)

Raohe Night Market

Amba Taipei Songshan

Amba Taipei Songshan

Songshan Station Taipei|0.32km from Raohe Night Market
My wife and I recently stayed at the Amba Taipei Songshan hotel. We had a good time. Upon our arrival we entered with a lot of luggage because from Taipei we would be flying on to the Philippines for a long stay. Thankfully the very nice security guard on the ground floor offered to contact the upstairs front desk and moments later we were helped with our luggage by the very kind Michael Mao. He went beyond the call of duty in giving us personal help with our luggage and allowing us to check in earlier than usual. My wife was surprised by how large the room was and so was I. Very comfortable setup. We didn’t have a view of Taipei 101 but the other side of the building is nice as well. The only problem was that all three days of our stay, the weather was very gloomy with occasional rain. Thanks to Michael for helping with food suggestions, shopping info for my wife and great instructions on how to access the Hop On Hop Off, etc. Unfortunately, we ended up not using the Hop On/Off bus because the schedule is really not great for tourist. Availability of the bus isn’t good. Michael explained that this was mostly due to those Covid years. Perhaps in the future the Hop On/Off will be back to normal as I think most tourist around the world are used to taking advantage of it just to get a quick view of the entire city. I will say that the best form of travel around the city is definitely the subway, which is probably the easiest to use in the world. Its super clean and convenient. Also, as great as the Amba Taipei Songshan hotel is, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention something that others have made mention of and that is the breakfast. Unfortunately, its not a great selection and not very flavorful. I’m one of those people who never adds salt to my food once its cooked. With this breakfast, I was shaking the salt shaker constantly. Also, I think employees/chefs should be encouraged and allowed to be a little more improvisational, if you will. I witnessed several times where someone asked if their eggs could be cooked “sunny side up” but the chef only pointed to the sign with two choices, scrambled or omelette. Sunny side up is not hard to do and probably takes less time to make than an omelette. Also, there’s a sign that says pancakes but in front of this sign is a plate filled with waffles. I assumed that you had to ask for pancakes so when I did, the chef pointed at the waffles. That sign should be changed to waffles only or offer both, which in my opinion would be the better option. Pancakes and Waffles. The area where breakfast is served is very nice and spacious. They should really try harder to make the breakfast just as exceptional. Beyond that, I still very much recommend this hotel as a number one option. Its a great location, the city link is right across the street and the Raohe night market is not far away at all. Really nice relaxed vibe and a very safe area to walk around and explore. 😁. Thank you for a nice stay…

If Inn

Ningxia Night Market
The hotel is ok. It is also convenient to eat, drink and play around. The staff at the hotel is not very good. Say don't book at Ctrip. We obviously booked the room. Going to the first sentence means that you have booked a room? In fact, they also have a single hand. Also left the room. ......... said Ctrip is not good in Taiwan. Do not make reservations at Ctrip in the future. I don't understand why. Your hotel will not be cancelled if you don't cooperate with Ctrip. We will not book a reservation at Ctrip. Anyway, people are not very happy to receive, we are in the room booked by Ctrip.

Beitou Hot Spring Area
The staff at the counter were very kind when we entered the door. Since we are vegetarians, they were very considerate about the vegetarian options on the breakfast rolls. The room still felt like home. I have been to Beitou Hot Springs and I still like this one. Quandu Transportation is right next door to the building downstairs. It’s very relaxing to soak in the convenience store and supermarket hot springs
LinkWorld Hotel

Songjiang Nanjing District
The geographical location is moderate and the transportation is convenient. The breakfast is rich and varied and highly recommended. The front desk staff have a very good attitude and try their best to help solve the problems raised by the guests. Only the network signal in the rooms on the lower floors is poor and the hardware should be improved.
Beitou Resort Metro Inn

I started looking for accommodation in Beitou two months ago and finally chose Jie Zhi Zhi Hotel. It is fully equipped with washing machines, dryers, drink dispensers, refrigerators, etc., making customers feel warm and comfortable. The front desk staff answered questions kindly and made me relax. During vacation, the meals are authentic and delicious. I like to order my favorite Hong Kong cuisine a la carte, fried rice with scallops, black tuna and roe, the grains are distinct, and paired with a pot of hot rose and cinnamon tea, it’s perfect! I made an appointment with my friends to come here for vacation next time! Thumbs up

Shilin Night Market
Just next to Jiantan Station and no issue to find the hotel even though we arrived late in the evening. Room was spacious with great amenities. Breakfast was basic but adequate. Appreciated the free items in the minibar. Would be better if there was gym facilities equipped. Otherwise, it was a great stay!
One Plus One Hotel

Ximenting Commercial Area
Convenient transportation, warm service, clean room, good coffee, very close to the subway station, because the boss is enthusiastic, the second time staying, the room was very clean, but the air conditioner was a bit cold and not adjustable, there were more mosquitoes, and free coffee.
