A nice quiet place. I liked that it was near enough to the train station (I had a bicycle) and also to the rice fields which was magical to cycle to in the early morning. It is a self check but the process and instructions were easy. Place was clean and sufficient for me with a comfortable bunk bed and cabinet. Toilets were a bit small though 😅

WWeihaoThe butler at the reception was very enthusiastic and would introduce the facilities in detail. A simple breakfast was also provided the next day. It was a youth hostel with a high CP value.

GGuest UserMy second stay here was prompted by the hot air balloons again. The location in the city center is incredibly convenient; it's within walking distance of the lively Tiehua Village, with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and well-maintained, and there's also parking available for cars. Booking three months ahead secured a great discount, offering excellent value for money. I was really happy to stay here again. I'll definitely choose this place for my next visit too, as its downtown location is just so convenient! :)

EEvebWe were on the 11th floor that provided thrilling rides and views in the elevator. The laundry facility was clean, inexpensive and efficient. There’s an auditorium, very nice for community events. The breakfast buffet is outstanding with many selections of both Asian and Western choices, all of it delicious. The fitness area is very nice and I wish we’d had time to enjoy the spa. The city views were nice and we could almost see the ocean. Robes and slippers were cozy. Would definitely stay again.

It's close to Taitung Bus Station, a 3-minute walk from the hotel, making it convenient for travel and transportation. This trip was great!

Atmosphere and Policies
Upon arrival, one of the notable aspects of the hostel was the requirement to remove shoes before entering. Although this might inconvenience some guests, it does contribute to maintaining cleanliness throughout the premises. The hostel has a modest, laid-back atmosphere, which can be suitable for travelers seeking a relaxed environment.
Room
Unfortunately, I found the room to be a bit claustrophobic. The limited space made it challenging to move around comfortably. However, considering the price, it was within the acceptable range. The room was clean and tidy, which was a positive point.
Service
One aspect that could be improved is the level of service provided. The staff offered minimal assistance during my stay, which led to a lack of personal touch. Despite this, it's worth noting that the basic amenities and necessities were provided.

IIrvineMom820Our stay at this hotel was a mixed experience, and overall, I wouldn't consider it worth the cost.
The hotel itself is old, and the facilities feel very dated. While it boasts a large swimming pool and spa areas, they were unusable during our stay as they were running with cold water. We didn’t see anyone using them. The “beauty pool,” which was advertised as having heated water, was disappointing due to a strong sewer-like smell. Additionally, the sauna is not complimentary for hotel guests, which felt unreasonable.
The dining experience was also underwhelming. The à la carte food in the restaurant was below average in quality, the portions were small, and the prices were high. However, the atmosphere was pleasant, though it felt odd being the only customers at 8 p.m. On a brighter note, the breakfast was excellent. I would rate it four stars for its variety of local and aboriginal food, which was a highlight of the stay.
The timing of activities for kids was inconvenient as well. While kids could play pool and ping pong for free in the evening (after we arrived at 7 p.m.), all other activities were scheduled for late morning or early afternoon, after checkout time.
The hotel’s location is another drawback. It is far from restaurants and busy areas, making it necessary to have a car or take a taxi.
The one positive aspect of our stay was the room. We booked the premium family room/suite, which provided separate sleeping areas for parents and kids—a feature we appreciated. However, this came at a premium price, costing 25% more. I had requested a room with a view, and the front desk clerk was accommodating, which I appreciated.
Overall, while the room and breakfast were nice, the rest of the experience didn’t justify the cost or the inconvenience. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless significant improvements are made to the facilities and services.

MMiaoruThe bed was large and comfortable. The public space on the first floor was comfortable. There was a kitchen with a microwave, a water dispenser, and mosquito repellent was provided for guests to use. Our whole family was very satisfied with this stay! We will stay here again next time.

TtwinkleracI had a pleasant stay at Traveller Inn Tiehua Cultural and Creative Hotel 4 years ago, so thought I'd try Traveller Inn Tiehua Cultural and Creative Hotel II this time, as they are located near to each other, very close to the bus station and Tiehua Village. This is a great location to explore the city. However, other than the superb location and the bigger room, there isn't much else to love about this hotel.
There was literally no service at this branch. Staff were not welcoming and unlike other hotels in Taiwan, they do not greet guests when you are at the lobby. I also never saw any of them smile at guests. In fact, on my first day of check-in, I was blatantly told to check in at Traveller Inn Tiehua Cultural and Creative Hotel instead, because ”the hotel is closed for the day”. When I asked how come I was not informed earlier, the staff answered ”because you don't have a Taiwan mobile number”. This is absurd to me, isn't there the Trip.com messaging service where you can contact guests? Very disappointed with the way they handle such cases, no apology at all, and just gives a very transactional feeling. The only time I encountered a staff who greeted me was at the breakfast restaurant.
Room amenities and facilities look like they need proper maintenance, and the windows were so dirty. The bed was also not very comfortable to sleep on.
Lastly, I know Taiwan hotel breakfasts are usually not so nice compared to eating out in the breakfast shops, but the quality of the breakfast was really bad. Seasonal fresh fruit selection was only watermelon on 1 morning, and guava + watermelon on another.
In conclusion, very disappointed with my stay here this time. Will definitely think twice about returning to Traveller Inn Tiehua Cultural and Creative Hotel II the next time I visit Taitung again.

GGuest UserWhile the facilities are new, there's considerable room for improvement in overall service. Here are a few points for consideration:
1. Before arrival, I received a call asking if I'd be okay changing from a king-bed room to two twin beds, which I agreed to. However, upon checking in, I found the room's window to be unusually small and the room quite dark. When I raised this with the front desk, they claimed I had already confirmed the change. This room clearly didn't match the photos, especially since I had specifically booked a higher-priced room. It only makes sense to switch to a two-twin-bed room if it's of a comparable price and quality. Eventually, they moved me to a quad room with a large window.
2. During check-in, when confirming payment, I was told my credit card had only been pre-authorized and not actually charged yet. However, the Trip.com app clearly showed that payment had already been made. This created a bad impression. If I had allowed the front desk to swipe my card again, I would have been double-charged. There seems to be a significant loophole in their payment management system, which could easily lead to disputes later on and should be addressed immediately.
3. In the bathroom, the shower stall only has a quarter-glass panel separating it from the sink area. After showering, the floor around the sink was completely soaked. A full glass sliding door or a shower curtain is definitely needed to prevent water from splashing all over the bathroom floor during a shower.
4. I needed a late check-out because my event didn't finish until noon, and I was aware of the 200/hour charge. I informed the front desk that morning, but upon returning, I found my key card had been deactivated, and I couldn't access my room. There's clearly a communication breakdown among the internal staff.
5. Upon check-in, breakfast was an additional 100 per person. However, when I went for breakfast, no one asked for my room number, which made me wonder if non-paying guests could also dine there. Including breakfast in the room rate might prevent such misunderstandings, or they should strictly enforce payment confirmation before allowing guests to eat.
