Taiyuan Liu Xiang Fengqi Ji Ting Hotel

I'm sharing my experience from this stay in the review, so everyone can offer feedback and use it as a reference for their choices. First, I'm very particular about shower water pressure. Most hotels and B&Bs, from a professional standpoint, prioritize strong water pressure so guests can easily wash away travel fatigue. Here, the shower water was like a drizzle, sparse and weak. A male staff member came up and admitted it was indeed too low. He took the showerhead, spent a long time with it, then returned it saying it was barely usable and a new one would take several more days. Isn't that ridiculous? Second, I came to Taiyuan for a marathon this time and had a slight cold. I boiled some hot water and poured a cup using one of the room's tea cups. Instantly, with a 'gab-ba' sound, the cup shattered! I was wearing flip-flops, and the hot water splashed all over my foot, giving me quite a fright. I called the front desk, and an older woman answered, repeatedly saying, "No way, that shouldn't happen!" It was the same young man who came up again, apologizing profusely and bringing me a bag of ice. The staff replaced two cups. I didn't say anything more because I had a marathon the next day and didn't want to ruin my mood. Third, the bathroom sink had a foul smell, and the drainpipe was leaking. I had to stand on my tiptoes just to wash my face. I really didn't want to complain; I could sense that the service here would put me in a bad mood for my marathon the next day. Finally, the bed sheets and duvet cover were stiff and rough when I slept at night. Having stayed in countless hotels and B&Bs, I've never had such a poor tactile experience. I wore pajamas and slept under the covers with the AC on, but the AC panel displayed "indoor unit dirty/blocked," so I didn't dare use it at all. The room also had no window, and even funnier, the electric toilet couldn't flush. How un-chic! Anyway, I ran a good race today. I wish the owner good business and hope my experience helps any friends passing through who are particular about these aspects! I know complaining wouldn't yield results, so it didn't affect my mood. Just passing through!

Great location and an elegant atmosphere. The staff were very welcoming. The breakfast, while not extensive, offered a good variety. Overall, the place was quite clean and well-maintained. The meal vouchers were a fun touch.

Just one suggestion, regarding the hairdryer. Men with short hair might not mind, but for us ladies with long hair, especially in summer, the hairdryer wasn't very effective. Other than that, everything else, from the location and the staff's attitude to the restaurant facilities and the breakfast taste, was absolutely satisfactory.

We were so lucky to choose this guesthouse in Datong Ancient City ✨. The location is superb, within walking distance to Huayan Temple and Drum Tower, making it super convenient to return after enjoying the ancient city's night views. The staff at the guesthouse were exceptionally friendly and attentive. They handled all our requests promptly and gave us practical advice for sightseeing, which was truly heartwarming. The breakfast was a highlight – everything was freshly made with authentic Datong flavors. The knife-cut noodles and side dishes were delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals every day. The ancient courtyard has a wonderful ambiance, the rooms are clean, and facilities are complete. There's even underground parking for those driving. Overall, our stay was incredibly comfortable. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Datong!

The location is excellent, very close to the Bell and Drum Tower, making it convenient to get around by taxi. The environment is relatively new and clean, and the facilities are quite complete.

The hotel boasts an excellent location at the intersection of Zhonglou Street, close to Zhonglou Street, Liuxiang, and Food Street, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient. It features a charming Chinese courtyard style that is elegant and tranquil. The rooms are clean, tidy, and comfortable, with new facilities. There's even a small courtyard where you can relax and enjoy tea. The service is warm and meticulous, ensuring a wonderful stay. I would definitely choose this hotel again when I return to Taiyuan.

The hotel boasts an excellent location within a walking commercial district, surrounded by numerous shops, making it perfect for both shopping and dining. Its antique-style architecture is quite distinctive, and the decor is elegant. The breakfast selection is also quite extensive.

Overall, I was satisfied. The lady at the front desk even upgraded my room. The location is excellent, right in the bustling city center. Eating and shopping are right outside the door. The bathroom was very large, but a bit unnecessarily so. The shower pressure on the second floor was a bit low, not great water pressure. It felt like a waste of such a spacious area. Don't open the windows when it's hot, as there are many mosquitoes in the courtyard. The buffet breakfast was also decent.

The environment is elegant and quiet despite being in a bustling area. The staff are warm and attentive. The room was nice, with direct access to the courtyard, and the bedding was comfortable. The food street is right next door, making dining very convenient. It's also very easy to get around from here.
