Meichen Elegant Hotel

The room is very close to Bell Tower Street, making its location excellent and very convenient for getting around. The room is spacious, and it's very quiet at night, ensuring a good rest. For our family trip, the bedding was very comfortable to sleep on.

The room was surprisingly quiet at night, despite being in a bustling area. There's no on-site parking, but there's a mall across the street with parking that's less than a three-minute walk away. It's also very close to Zhonglou Street, making it super convenient for finding food.

The location is excellent, just a hundred meters walk to Zhonglou Street, with plenty of good food nearby. The room is great, very spacious and well-equipped, quite new. The only downsides are that there's only one elevator, which can get a bit crowded, and it has no air conditioning, making it very stuffy. When I asked, they said it only has ventilation, no AC. The lobby on the first floor is very small, a bit cramped, and gets congested when many people are there.

The room was very mediocre and not worth the price; it was definitely overpriced. As soon as I turned on the air conditioning, my son started coughing uncontrollably. The soundproofing was also terrible; it was very noisy. And I'm someone who usually sleeps well! My neighbors were watching TV until 1 or 2 AM. The room cleaning wasn't very thorough either. I don't recommend it. I had booked two nights, but I decided to check out early. The good thing is the front desk didn't make a fuss and helped me cancel the second night's booking. There's a decent intangible cultural heritage noodle shop across the street, which somewhat made up for the stay.

My stay here far exceeded my expectations. The room was clean and tidy, with a simple yet elegant decor. The bedding was soft, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a very quiet night's sleep. What truly stood out was the bathtub – it was spacious, had a stable water flow, and even came with a disposable tub liner, guaranteeing hygiene. After a long day of sightseeing, a hot bath was just what I needed to soothe away all the fatigue, leaving me feeling wonderfully content. The bathroom featured a wet/dry separation, and all the amenities were well-stocked. The smart home controls throughout the room were a convenient touch. The front desk staff were polite and efficient during check-in. Overall, it offers great value for money. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to relax with a good soak. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit to Taiyuan.

The hotel boasts an excellent location, just one block away from the Bell Tower pedestrian street. Despite being in a bustling area, it's incredibly quiet. The extra-large rooms are clean, tidy, and equipped with modern facilities. The bedding is comfortable. The front desk staff (both the handsome guys and beautiful ladies) and the room attendants provide warm and thoughtful service.

The location is unbeatable! It's super close to Mouse Street, Bell Tower Pedestrian Street, and Shanxi Restaurant, all within easy walking distance. While the museum is a bit further, getting a taxi is convenient, and ride-shares in Taiyuan are really cheap! The room itself is incredibly spacious, with a good-sized sofa, a tea set and table, and even a fridge, which was a lifesaver in the summer heat. The downsides were that the elevator and hallways were incredibly stuffy and hot, though thankfully it's not a long walk to the room. Also, the cleanliness could definitely be improved; I'd suggest they ask the cleaning staff to be more thorough.

Service: Lacks service awareness. 1. The hotel room was assigned right next to the elevator, completely disregarding my reservation notes. It was noisy and annoying. 2. Housekeeping was completely inadequate. After cleaning, there were still hairs and stray bits, which was truly disgusting. Plus, there was an empty Sprite can left in the hotel wardrobe (thrown there by a previous guest), and housekeeping didn't even bother to remove it. 3. While we were out of the room, housekeeping entered and turned off the air conditioning without permission. Taiyuan has been hot and humid these past few days, and the windows weren't even opened. The entire room was stifling. The service is truly terrible!!! Overall, it's just mediocre. The general service awareness really needs to be improved.

The environment is great, and it's very clean. The staff are really friendly and even helped me keep my lost clothes and trousers. The room is tidy, neat, and spotless. Ordering delivery food is super convenient. The cleanliness is absolutely top-notch, and the soundproofing is excellent.
