The hotel is new and comfortable, conveniently located next to the high speed train station. The buffet breakfast is nice, and the self service laundry is a welcome plus. The staff are attentive and friendly. The hotel is also popular with business travellers, among whom there are quite a few smokers, which might be common in this part of China. Overall, recommended.

Near Taiyuan south railway station and there's a shopping centre opposite which has plenty of food options. You can use the underpass to get there.

Vienna International Hotel is super close to the GAO TIE station. You can just take the back route on the first floor and it takes a very short walk to get me to the station. Lobby looks luxurious and staff are friendly. They upgraded to a non-smoking floor however the first room was still smelling smoky. They changed room and I’m happy it’s a REAL non-smoking. Breakfast is good with many things. Highly recommend it.

The location is very convenient. It takes only 5 minutes to walk to the west entrance of the station. You can take the train to Pingyao Ancient City, Taiyuan Station and many other places you want to go. The facilities are a bit old, but they are clean and tidy, and the bedding is very comfortable.
