Manxin Hotel is a high-end hotel under the Huazhu Club umbrella. The customer service is excellent, with friendly service and prompt resolution of any issues. The hotel is located on Changfeng Street. I had no idea where this was when I booked the hotel, but locals later told me it's quite bustling. It's also not far from Zhonglou Street and Liuxiang. The subway station is less than 500 meters away. The hotel is located in a commercial office building, with the lobby on the 12th floor. Going up from the ground floor was a bit of a surprise, as I thought I'd gone to the wrong place. The guest rooms are in the 20th floor, a total of only three floors. There's no gym or pool, but there is a laundry room. The guest rooms are high enough, but the windows are surprisingly small, perhaps due to the building's construction. The rooms are spacious, but the amenities feel a bit dated. The air conditioning is a bit noisy, which might be a problem for those with sleep problems. The breakfast is plentiful and long, perfect for a late night.

Last time I stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel (going to Datong), and this time I stayed at the Manxin Hotel (Taiyuan). According to Huazhu Club, the former is mid-range and the latter is mid-to-high-end. For example, Manxin has welcome fruits, and they opened the door for me on the first day of check-in. I was quite surprised by the latter, as this is a service available in a mid-to-high-end hotel. However, don't expect any service such as helping you press the elevator button and sending your luggage up, after all, this is not a five-star hotel. Second, the room type. I am quite satisfied. When I stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel, I didn’t get a room upgrade, but when I stayed at the Manxin Hotel, I didn’t expect that I would get a room upgrade (it might be a basic operation). After upgrading the room type, the space is spacious, with dry and wet areas separated (what I care about most), and the room decoration style is what I like, thumbs up. 3. Lobby decoration style and fragrance. The scent of All Seasons Tea is hard to describe, but it's quite special. However, subjectively it's not my favorite scent, so I won't discuss it. 4. Meals. As for the food, it was just a normal meal, nothing special, but it had everything that you would expect, and the small cakes were delicious. 5. Others. Because my travel schedule was a bit tight, I set up a wake-up call at the front desk to get up early, and the front desk woke me up on time with a gentle tone and a good attitude. Overall, I am satisfied with my stay. I will try Intercity Hotel next time.
