Top Business Hotels in Takayama

Hotel is in a very good location being very near to the Old Town where the attractions and restaurants are. However there is limited parking space, and we had to park in a public car park 100m away. Staff were friendly, but communication was a little difficult as they were not very conversant in English. Overall nice hotel.

Very convenient, only 5 mins walk from the Takayama Train/bus station. The hotel serves complimentary hot ramen from 9pm to 10.30pm and free coffee at the lobby. The buffet breakfast is so fantastic,. I love the private onsen and the free ice-cream after the onsen. They also provide yukata which can be worn to the onsen and dining area. Footwears have to be removed and stored at the lobby. It's truly an experience and we enjoyed our stay at the hotel very much. Would highly recommend Takayama Ouan.

A new hotel just built in front of Takayama station. It is a stay type hotel, but artists are decorated everywhere and fashionable. This time, Superior twin. The room itself is not particularly characteristic, but there is a sofa on the window side and it can be relaxed. This sofa is a bed, so you can stay for three people. Electric pots, empty refrigerators, washing dryers, microwave ovens, etc. are also complete. Recommended for long stay. The bathroom is small in the unit. Especially the toilet is small. There is a comfortable public bath, so I wanted to relax the toilet part only by shower. Amenities are only toothbrushes, and amenities are available on the first floor. Shaving, brush, tea bags such as tea and green tea, cosmetics, cotton swabs, cotton, etc. The public bath is also fashionable with designer specifications. There is also an open-air bath. You can enjoy two different design hot springs in the men and women replacement system. The atmosphere is like a public bath in a luxury inn. It doesn't seem to be in front of the station. There are also view lounges and foot baths on the top floor. Convenient location and recommended for sightseeing and business. The staff has a level difference depending on the person. Because it is a new hotel, is it possible?

We departed from Osaka to Takayama late, and chose this hotel because it is located opposite the JR station and Takayama bus station, which is very convenient. The staff was a bit indifferent when checking-in, but I didn't want to talk to you, but English was OK. The hotel room is small and a bit old, the basic facilities are provided, but it is still clean. Our room rate included breakfast. Unexpectedly, the breakfast quality was good. I ordered a Japanese breakfast with fried salmon and alpine famous things, Pu Ye Wei, very delicious and full. The area of Takayama is not very large, so you can visit the main tourist and shopping locations of Takayama City.

The hotel is only 1 block across the JR station with many restaurants around the area, less than 10 minutes leisure walk to the historic area. Room is very well maintained and spacious, with comfortable beddings, strong showers. The hotel is very responsive with my emails and questions, I feel that they are really trying their best to accomodate my request with occupant change that we really appreciate. Breakfast is adequate with a good selection of hot dishes, Japanese and continental. Overall a great hotel in Takayama

A very nice hotel, which is only in operation for 1 year and is located in the mountains. The rooms are very bright and modernly furnished. We were stayed there for 2 nights during our tour. The breakfast was Japanese and served at the table, which was of course something habitual, but still very good.

Country Hotel Takayama is the perfect home away from home in Takayama, Gifu Japan.This hotel is located right across the Nohi Bus Terminal which is right beside to Takayama Train Station. When you get off from the bus, you will immediately see the building. Aside from their perfect location, this hotel also has a KONBINI (are Japanese convenience stores) Family Mart at the ground floor, open 24 hours. Morning markets, Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine, Old Town Street, Hida Kokubunji Temple and Nakabashi bridge are a few tourist location you can easily access by walking (10-15 minutes) from the hotel. I was here last February 24 to 26, 2020. The room is quite spacious for me, got a single room type but I think it can accommodate 2 people in it. I was able to booked it online through Agoda.com for Php 4,024.78, not bad! It has complete basic amenities you can find in a room including a comfy sleeping robe. Room is super clean and smells so good. Considering I wrongly booked the smoking type room. The only downside I had about the room was that the heater was broken. It was so hot inside, thanked God it was winter time so I just slightly opened my window. So cold breeze from the outside can get in. Overall, Country Hotel Takayama is HIGHLY RECOMMEND aside from their perfect location. Staff are very good, speaks English and really helpful and accommodating. Their Manager helped me booked a taxi who is going to picked me up at the highway on my route to Gujo Hachiman. Because taxis in Gujo Hachiman are booked a day before your arrival and they don’t speak English at all. And If you’re a Filipino, you are most likely going to bumped into one of our kababayan who is working on this hotel. So far, she’s the only Pinoy here and she speaks Bisaya, from Davao City. We stayed here for a 2 nights on a Distant Journey (DJ) tour of Japan. Arrived around 5pm by coach from Mt Fuji area. Check in was well organised but it was after 6pm before our luggage arrived in our room on 8th floor. We were meant to meet our TM and guide between 7 and 7.30 for advice on where to have dinner. Map in hand we turned right outside hotel and proceeded into town. Recommended restaurants were very difficult to find. Any we did find, including those not mentioned, were either fully reserved or full or, as time passed towards 8pm, were closing. We headed back to the hotel to find buffet option was £45 or set Japanese meal ¥8,300 (£53). Many of us went to a 711 across the road from hotel and bought ready meals, which they heated for us in microwave, beer or wine and we retreated to our rooms. The street lighting is poor so navigation from a map was difficult. Breakfast was like school dinners but passable. Bar closes at 7pm!!! If you are reading this and are on a JD tour get to town early to stand a chance of eating out. A group did find a restaurant very close by hotel before the bridge on opposite side of road to 711 but the name unrecognisable as in Japanese, photo attached.

My favorite hotel in Takayama. The hotel has a sense of design, good service, clean bath (but small) and a lot of Hida pure milk ice cream to eat. There are soft drinks available all day, and you can also try more than a dozen kinds of sake for free. The breakfast is delicious and beautiful. There are also many Hida drinks and milk dairy products to drink. Later we lived in Takayama Sakura. When we wanted to have a drink after the soup at night and found that there was no lemonade at the front desk, we sighed that if we were in wood in this climate, we must have started drinking soft drinks.

I can't comment on value as this was part of a cycle tour with my bike club (BAC) and Cycling Japan, but my room was really lovely and quiet with a great view. I loved the comfy bed and ergonomic desk chair. The onsen was on the top floor and really lovely with inside and outside pools. The staff was super helpful (the manager helped me find and reserve a wonderful dinner choice - Bistro Kanzo) and breakfast was also really good with local items (not your too-often too many overcooked and deep-fried items). Also, a perfect location for exploring Takayama. This is my 4th trip to Japan and I have stayed in so many accommodations on cycling and hiking tours, so I do have some context. For me, Alpina checked all of the boxes: room, view, staff, breakfast, onsen, location.
