Hotel renovated in late 2024 and under new management. This will be a top hotel in a few years. Rooms are clean with modern amenities. There are laundry rooms and entertainment rooms for kids. Bedrooms are massive by international standards even. Breakfasts are very very good. See photos. One thing to improve on would be the dinner food variety, quality, quantity (non set meals of 2000Y were small and similar to instant noodles. Premium meals of 8000Y are very good.

Friendly staff, very new spacious and tidy hotel. A little understaffed as breakfast food not replaced quickly enough during busy times, but generally an excellent experience.

Likes the breakfast, room was huge. Great if you’re skiing or snowboarding at Ryu.
However, hotel does not have parking, requires snowmobile to shuttle up and down or sometimes climb the hill if the shuttle is not available.
Overall, I would visit again only if I’m skiing there.

We stayed in Kusatsu the night before, here the second night, and Karuizawa the third night. It was surprisingly nice, cheaper than anywhere else, and the rooms were larger and cleaner than anywhere else. Dinner wasn't anything particularly special, but it was delicious, and you could tell each dish was carefully and lovingly prepared. Even our two-year-old was served the same meal, and the adults shared theirs, saying they were full. They even provided free white rice for our child upon request, and the service from the foreign staff was heartwarming and wonderful throughout. I was amazed by the room's interior and amenities, and the bath water filled faster than I've ever experienced.
I was considering Shibu Onsen, but I chose this hotel because I wanted to go to Sora Terrace. I'm so glad I stayed here! Thank you very much.
