Hotel Around Takayama, Ascend Hotel Collection

The location is excellent, just a few minutes' walk from the station after turning left. My room had a view of the snowy mountains 🏔️ and the parking lot was spacious. The bathroom was a bit small, but still functional. The only downside was that the air conditioning was very noisy.

This hotel is incredibly convenient if you're traveling with kids to Shin-Hotaka or heading to the ski resort. It's super close to both the JR station and the Nohi Bus Terminal. Staying here for multiple nights was hassle-free; you can store your luggage for free, and the hotel itself is beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who needs a place to stay. The only minor downside is that the breakfast is quite simple (a fixed set menu as pictured), and there aren't other options available if you're staying multiple nights with a group.

The hotel is quite new, with self-service coin-operated laundry and luggage storage. It's very close to the station, and Maruaki Yakiniku is nearby, plus there's a cafe next door. The only downsides are that the onsen has just one small pool, and the bathroom is tiny – it would be a disaster if there were many people!

The pillows weren't great, but everything else was perfect. Even though there's only one communal bath, it's really good value for money.

The hotel's location and facilities were quite good, and I stayed for two nights. However, something truly outrageous happened: I returned to find my room door open! When I confronted the hotel, their attitude was cold. They claimed they couldn't investigate what happened, stating there were no surveillance cameras and no record of staff using a key card to enter. Of course, they didn't apologize immediately either. I contacted Trip.com customer service, who not only comforted me and helped resolve the issue but also provided some compensation.

No need for lengthy explanations. This was the best hotel I stayed at during my trip to Japan, offering the best value for money.
