BBaixianshengbaixiaoshengThe family hotel run by a couple, I feel that the cost performance is not high, the rooms are not big, the hygiene is not bad, the boss's service seems to be quite polite, but because it is a family business, you basically rely on yourself after checking in. It feels stingy. There are only a few pieces of paper left in the tissue boxes in the two rooms. What's more, I have to complain about the breakfast. The quantity is relatively small. There is only one serving of Pu Ye beef for 4 people, and there are less than 10 dice-sized beef cubes in it. The other things are not delicious. There is a private soup on the terrace on the third floor of the hot spring. The overall environment is very average. The average price of more than 400 for adults and children is very average. It is recommended to choose other hotels without breakfast, which are more cost-effective.

TThanathip MoolvongOne of the best I have experienced with ryokan staying. I love a small hotel/inn as it is not crowded. This place answers my expectations.
Its location is a bit far off but it is not an issue. It is accessible by public bus from Takayama. Each room has private onsen. It also has 2 outdoor, private onsen on first-come-first-serve basis. There are also public baths for male and female.
Room was in good condition. Bathroom is a bit small for me. Only complaint I would have was foot step noise from the room on upper floor. Very annoyed.
Food was great. I stayed 2 nights, the hotel provided 2 different types of food - appreciated.
Highway recommended.

The only downside is that the hotel is a bit far from the train station. It was quite tiring walking with luggage. I later found out they might have a free shuttle service, but no one at the hotel mentioned it proactively.

AAleksandr Davydov (RU)Just had an amazing time in this ryokan with a friend. The public bathroom in the open air - incredible, big, and also a lot of steam, along with the lighting of the lanterns, gives an incredible onsen-vibe! (But it was closed for cleaning at midnight, and not at one in the morning, as written in the brochure). There is also a sauna with a cold bath. After onsen, you can drink milk for free or eat ice cream from frozen juice. There is a separate paid lounge with unlimited beer, wine and whiskey. Private bathrooms are not bad, but not like public ones, plus they were constantly occupied by couples. The bath in the room itself is also not bad, but if you are tall, there may be problems with where to put your feet x) Dinner and breakfast were amazingly tasty. I especially liked the space on the street by the fire, where you can fry marshmallows or just sit after onsen to cool off with a strong drink) During the day we ride to Kamikochi, also a fantastic place)

- kind owner and cozy interior with a very homey feel

- coin laundry and coin dryer were easy to use and cheap as well

- not really a con, but remember to bring a towel and toothbrush/toothpaste, if you forget it you can also get a towel at the Inn
- 25min on foot is not that far away from the inner city and it’s great that the folk village is so close (if you want to visit) - but i had my focus on different things during my visit, so next time i would book something closer to the inner part of the city and the travel bus station

AAnjingdekelianxiaojieHighly recommend! The entire service was excellent. As soon as we got off the bus, there's an iCafe right under the JR station where you can drop off your luggage. They then send it directly to the hotel for you. So by the time you're done exploring and ready to check in, your bags are already in your room. Plus, there's a shuttle bus every hour from 6:30 AM to 9:15 PM that picks you up and drops you off at the JR station, making the whole experience very thoughtful. The hot springs are also a highlight – there are many outdoor baths, all super relaxing. Breakfast is very substantial too; you absolutely have to try the fish and natto. The front desk staff were incredibly accommodating as well. They proactively added an extra bed for us. We're two adults and one child, and our room originally only had two standard beds, but they added another one next to them even before we checked in.

EEivangThe hotel has a great ambiance, and the rooms come with private onsen, offering excellent value for money. The lady at the restaurant spoke Chinese, which made dining very enjoyable. The only downside was that the breakfast portion was a bit small, which seems to be a common issue with non-buffet hotels in Japan.
