Find the Most Affordable Popular Romantic Hotels in Takayama

Hotel is in a very good location being very near to the Old Town where the attractions and restaurants are. However there is limited parking space, and we had to park in a public car park 100m away. Staff were friendly, but communication was a little difficult as they were not very conversant in English. Overall nice hotel.

Very convenient, only 5 mins walk from the Takayama Train/bus station. The hotel serves complimentary hot ramen from 9pm to 10.30pm and free coffee at the lobby. The buffet breakfast is so fantastic,. I love the private onsen and the free ice-cream after the onsen. They also provide yukata which can be worn to the onsen and dining area. Footwears have to be removed and stored at the lobby. It's truly an experience and we enjoyed our stay at the hotel very much. Would highly recommend Takayama Ouan.

Great location walkable distance to the shopping street. New and clean room. Try the private outdoor bath it’s nice 👍🏻. Breakfast is quite nice and value for money at 1000 yen per pax . Highly recommended

Stayed here for 3 nights with my wife and daughter in two separate rooms. The room size is certainly larger than most hotels of this category in Japan. Quite well laid out in terms of separation of areas for laundry, kitchen, toilet, bathroom + shower, and basin. An internal door closes off the bedroom from the kitchen, laundry etc. Wardrobe is quite huge. Fridge is quite big. Not a bar fridge. Useful if you planned to cook a lot during your stay. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessary appliances and utensils. Hotel requests that you wash all your dishes. Washing machine is huge too with all the bells and whistles of a smart machine. Thoughtful provisions: Dimmable ceiling lights with changeable colour from daylight to cool white and warmwhite via remote control. Daily supply of yukata and bedroom slippers. Daily supply of bottled water in the fridge. Daily supply of laundry detergent and softener. Daily supply of tea bags and coffee powder. More can be self collected at the reception. Big bottles of branded quality liquid soap, shampoo and conditioner, face and hand wash, and body lotion. Disposable shaver, comb, cotton buds, etc available for self collection in the lobby. Hanger dryers in the balcony. Toilet bowl comes with Japanese standard of features. Separate bins for combustible, plastic and discarded food. And umbrellas for loan. Suggestions for improvement: Bedside lamps will be very useful. Towel rail or hooks should be provided outside the bathroom. The one and only tiny towel rail is in the shower area and it gets wet. The black spot at the ground entrance to the lift looks like a chewing gum stucked there for a long time. I am sure it can be easily removed. The lift carpet could be better fitted. Overall: This is a small but a great serviced apartment hotel which is located right next to the bus andl train station that can transport you anywhere. It is clean and well maintained. Staff are very friendly and helpful, even though they communicate mainly in Japanese.

A new hotel just built in front of Takayama station. It is a stay type hotel, but artists are decorated everywhere and fashionable. This time, Superior twin. The room itself is not particularly characteristic, but there is a sofa on the window side and it can be relaxed. This sofa is a bed, so you can stay for three people. Electric pots, empty refrigerators, washing dryers, microwave ovens, etc. are also complete. Recommended for long stay. The bathroom is small in the unit. Especially the toilet is small. There is a comfortable public bath, so I wanted to relax the toilet part only by shower. Amenities are only toothbrushes, and amenities are available on the first floor. Shaving, brush, tea bags such as tea and green tea, cosmetics, cotton swabs, cotton, etc. The public bath is also fashionable with designer specifications. There is also an open-air bath. You can enjoy two different design hot springs in the men and women replacement system. The atmosphere is like a public bath in a luxury inn. It doesn't seem to be in front of the station. There are also view lounges and foot baths on the top floor. Convenient location and recommended for sightseeing and business. The staff has a level difference depending on the person. We departed from Osaka to Takayama late, and chose this hotel because it is located opposite the JR station and Takayama bus station, which is very convenient. The staff was a bit indifferent when checking-in, but I didn't want to talk to you, but English was OK. The hotel room is small and a bit old, the basic facilities are provided, but it is still clean. Our room rate included breakfast. Unexpectedly, the breakfast quality was good. I ordered a Japanese breakfast with fried salmon and alpine famous things, Pu Ye Wei, very delicious and full. The area of Takayama is not very large, so you can visit the main tourist and shopping locations of Takayama City.

The hotel is a 10-minute walk from Takayama Station. The soup house is relatively small, there are free bicycles to use, small gifts to leave the store, and a taxi was also called for help.

The hotel is only 1 block across the JR station with many restaurants around the area, less than 10 minutes leisure walk to the historic area. Room is very well maintained and spacious, with comfortable beddings, strong showers. The hotel is very responsive with my emails and questions, I feel that they are really trying their best to accomodate my request with occupant change that we really appreciate. Breakfast is adequate with a good selection of hot dishes, Japanese and continental. Overall a great hotel in Takayama

We were lucky to stay at Mercure Takayami on their opening night. Everything about the hotel was above our expectations. Rooms were a very comfortable with attention to detail. Having USB and USB C charging ports for our electronics next to the bed was very convenient and meant we didn't need to search for our Japan power adaptors. This hotel has been well designed with a focus on local traditional carpentry and joinery skills. When you book this hotel make sure you book a room that includes access to the private Onsen. We had an open-air experience while we watched the snow from our private onsen. Breakfast had an extensive range of Tradition Hida dishes and Western choices, with different options available each day. This was a great way to try Hida Beef Curry and Hida chicken cooked on a traditional grill. Staff were very helpful going above and beyond with their dedicated and personal service, even searching the internet for me to find a store that sold Yama Cola. We will be back to stay again and will try to stay longer next time.
