Couldn't be better. The Mara Serena is beautiful itself and offers breathtaking views of the Mara and the Serengeti from each and every room, lobby, terrace and the pool. Natural beauty is everywhere. In addition, the food is consistently excellent, the staff generous and very helpful, the amenities lovely. In addition to all the classics, the bar offers some great local drinks.

We spent 3 days at the lodge and positioning and kids activities was why I picked it. The positioning was fantastic, set up on the hill so you had a fantastic panoramic. Aside from the pool there is a play room for younger kids but it would have been nice to have a garden area to kick a football. The food was good and the chefs very accommodating but all basic buffet and it worked! I used the spa and enjoyed my massage and the view from the room was amazing. The disappointment was the size of the rooms but I’d read this before and with 3 beds in we were lucky we had such long game drives that we didn’t have much rest time in our rooms!

Amazing location and views on a hill overlooking the Masai Mara, stunningly beautiful setting and even the best pictures can't quite capture it accurately. Worth staying there just for the sunrises! We loved staying on this side of the Masai Mara for a couple days with unique and beautiful topography. This is a wonderful lodge and we had a great experience. Nearly all staff were friendly and provided great customer service, the rooms have amazing views and the beds were very comfortable. The food was delicious and the wide array of options was very helpful.

It's more a 2.5 stars. Rooms really beautiful but too small and too hot! Even with the fans, the temperature is too high. Outside it was cool and pleasant in the evening and at night, but the rooms was overheating. The lobby at the entrance really beautiful as well, but then there is a cage with a few rabbits and chicks that clearly are in distress and no explanation as to why they're kept there. Food was fine, but service was really slow and for breakfast we kept asking for milk and butter but it never came. We had to literally get the butter from another table. Staff are ok, but not as friendly as in the other places. The view is stunning. In general, this is not a place if you want a more authentic Kenyan experience. Unfortunately it looks like any fancy hotel you find in Europe or other western countries. Of course the view is better (landscape wise), but that's it really.

Our son got sick the night before our trip but we decided to still proceed with our travel plans. First issue, we assumed being a 5 star hotel we would at least have a mini fridge to store his antibiotic. Front office staff David looked at us like we were asking for a trip to the moon when we requested for one. He was extremely lacking of empathy the whole time we were there and I made sure to tell him that. The nurse was amazing! So were the kitchen staff Anne and Diana who graciously accommodated us even when our son would vomit countlessy after every meal in the dining area. We had to cut our trip by a night because of the sickness and requested whether we would get a redeemable voucher for any other Serena establishment given my husband is a Serena member. David again was very unkind with his delivery that it’s against company policy😏 He left a very bad taste from the minute we checked in to the second we checked out. We can confidently say that we will not be visiting this establishment or recommending it to anyone.

Very good resort, efficiently run, extremely courteous staff, great food and an overall very professional experience. I would recommend this to anyone to show what a well run hospitality location should look like. Dining room staff were excellent - and also very kind to our six year old son and his food needs.

I have been trying to book with Mara Serena for the last 10 (!!!) days, however, I am shocked and surprised by the slow response. After the first couple of emails which were prompt enough, the booking team has been very slow in responding. This has put me in a tough spot since I needed to book my flights etc once my accommodation gets confirmed. For travellers from across the world, I would have expected Mara Serena to be more prompt in this. Disappointing!

Really loved this resort. We stayed here for three nights. The rooms are cute and have a nice view over Masai Mara Game Reserve. From the room and pool you can literally see the animals passing by. In the early morning, when you leave for a game drive, you might see some animals very close to the entree of the resort. On the first morning we saw a group of young male lions, just 2 minutes away. I can highly recommend this resort on this beautiful location!

this hotel being in the Mara meant that driving out on safari was easy and not wasted time. You could even see animals from the balcony. We were lucky to see so many animals but our guide seemed so well up on where to be/go. The food provided was on a buffet basis and there was wide choice. Some of the staff even remembered our names!
