The setting and location of the hotel are amazing, however more attention to detail needed. As we were staying in March, there were only the set menu’s available at the main restaurant (the brasserie was closed). The menu’s were too similar so we were only able to eat at the hotel for one night which was difficult for us with a baby. It would also have been nice to have more snacks or lighter meals available throughout the day, but it felt very ‘out of season’ and a bit limited by what was on offer. The bar area was not very welcoming and could do with a refurbishment more in keeping with the Abbey, as the modern finish did not really work. Some of the staff were a bit rude and not very helpful, felt that they were looking you up and down when you walked past rather than giving you a friendly greeting. The new spa area is beautiful and definitely a big reason to come back again. The hotel has a huge amount of potential, but not quite 4 stars in our opinion.

We have stayed all around the world in Four Season, Ritz Carlton , Jumeirah, you name it. The unpretentious luxury here mixed with history and excellence of staff makes you come back for more. I hardly even do reviews but this hotel deserves one. The food was spectacular and the Maitre D for breakfast a star.

We arrived and hoped to have a nice stay and dinner with the beautiful view from the hotel on the lake. The room was noisy and the hotel only offered 1 (!) 3 course menu. Weasked if my wife could change the main course to the fish which was available on the 6 course menu, but the hotel refused. I have never seen a 4 star hotel refuse such a simple and justified request for no reason. For a 450 Euro per night stay you would expect the service level to be much higher than that. For a fully booked Saturday night in the holiday period the hotel looked dead. The bar area was empty. Having said that the staff was very polite and attentive, but you really need to improve.

What a lovely setting and a beautiful hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. A good example of how a hotel should be run. And after a dip or two in lake at this time of year (February) I feel invigorated and like a new them

The hotel itself has lovely character, historic charm, and inviting communal areas. However, the room was quite different—rather modern and clinical, lacking any character. Dinner was excellent, as was breakfast. The service was very good, particularly during dinner.

The hotel was in a beautiful area and it was nice there was a parking available. The room was very basic (the bathroom was new and clean). There is no elevator. Maybe you can put that on your site or ask when people make reservations that they are able to do stairs. The holiday was for my 50th birthday. I think it would have been nice if something was offered for this occasion. The hotel is more then expensive enough, 1 drink would have been nice, maybe with the breakfast. The food in the restaurant was really nice. Something to recommend.

Beautiful setting on a cove of the Lake of Annecy. We stayed in the Jean Reno room which was spacious and the views from every window were amazing. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
