Castillo Tambor Resort & Restaurant

1) Overall quaint location, gardens and building 2) The Food was horrible...no flavor, imagination, and DEFINITELY nothing like you see on their website. Many things on their menu were not available. 3). We purchased a premium room at the top of the tower: a). Hottest room there as the underside of the tin roof is exposed. The Air conditioning was not powerful enough to cool the immensely hot room. Use of the CLACKY fan to aid this did not help. b). Lack of clothing storage..no dresser, or closet c). Mismatched used/old/ broken furniture was not what I expected for this type of room. College dorm rooms look better d). Pillows were uncomfy (hard/crunchy) e). Mattress was comfy f). Windows were dirty. Disappointing, since it is the one with the ocean view g). The Tv/Airconditioner area had wires hanging all over the place h). The bathroom was disgusting. EXTREME hard water stains on ALL the glass surfaces and water handles made everything look dirty. The shower floor had hard water stains near the drain. The instant hot water heater was barely hanging on the wall, with electric wires exposed and you could see through the hole to the outside. Broken toilet seat. Nothing to place toiletries on. 1 bathroom window would not open. NO HOT WATER!!!!!!

We stayed here & are still here! The staff are absolutely brilliant & can’t do enough for us. Our chef Randall is superb & if you want fresh food cooked beautifully then come to their Cactus restaurant & be spoilt! If you are looking for peace & quiet in a jungle setting, this couldn’t be better. Thank you Carolina for making sure that all the things we wanted to do, were made possible with your help! Our stay has been unforgettable.
