Short review: Good: - location very central - relatively clean - reasonably well equipped for a short stay - great shops and restaurants nearby Bad: - charged for nights not spent - quite a small room - tired decor that’s marked and peeling (see photos) - only one bed light worked (see photo) - was not met at check in - Lazy and confusing. Two elderly guests were also lost and confused - tiles in the bathroom shower broken/missing (see photo) - WiFi awful and never works (see screenshot) - Could hear what sounded like a vacuum cleaner at night that turned out to be the hand dryer in the cafe bathroom below… - could hear a washing machine working through the night. - Noise from cafe downstairs very loud in the morning - Tv remote sticky and filthy (see photo) Longer review: Awful service and experience overall. We booked and paid for 4 nights. However, due to Etna erupting, our flight was cancelled and rescheduled for 3 days later. I reached out to the hotel and asked whether we could reschedule or get a partial refund and was told no. We arrived on the Monday for our ‘last’ night and I ended up having paid 550€ for one night. I know that Etna erupting wasn’t the hotels fault either but surely there’s a middle ground to be met? At the very least, a token gesture of a drink at the bar, late check out, or something? Instead, we got nothing. Not even a welcome as the hotel was empty at 3pm and the keys were left in the room. Very lazy management. Presumably, you didn’t want to have to see me after taking my money for nothing? I would not stay again. Even if I didn’t have 3 nights stolen from me, I don’t see the value here. We booked another place 3 minutes away for 3 more nights (as this place charged for 3 unused nights) for much less and got much more space. That was last minute, too (day before). I hardly ever leave a review for anything. Who wants to type all this? Had this situation been handled better, I wouldn’t have shared anything. However, I feel it only right to forewarn others about what might happen. Be cautious and don’t pay up front.

Taormina is a mountain village, so when you arrive, you have to leave your car at Lumbi Parking and take a shuttle to the centre of town. Casa Turrisi is a short walk from the shuttle stop. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The B&B location could not be better! Breakfast was not included because we were off-season. The only caution I would give is that if you have mobility issues, the complex has stairs to the entry and if your room is on the second or third floor, obviously more stairs to climb.

Excellent location right in the middle of Taormina with a clean room and balconies that overlooked restaurants and shops. Everything is up to date and well maintained. The king bed was comfortable and the staff, especially Luciana, were friendly, professional and looking to be of service. Santi, the manager/owner? responded immediately via What's Ap. The breakfast was typical "Sicilian Continental" - cookies, cannoli and a strawberry cheese cake Crostata Chantily - in addition to good Sicilian bread, yogurt, cereal and eggs to order. It is served on their covered rooftop with 360 degree views. Just suggestions: I wish the rooftop was open in the evening so we could sit up there with a glass of our own Sicilian wine. USB ports for charging would have been nice when our converter died.

Central but then Taormina is a small town on a hill... everything is within walking distance, 5 mins from the Theatre, main shopping area, 10 mins walk to the bus terminal (arriving from the airport). Room was big, nicely decorated and very clean. It is sound proof but if you want some fresh air and not use the AC (I went in May) then it is extremely noisy - people passing by, restaurants music, motorbikes, neighbours. I had room no. 1 which probably is the worst because it is right by the entrance, everyone passes by, door bell ringing... You can hear all the noises from the room above, b&b next door, the neighbour's dog... Probably the upper rooms are much better. I also had an incident with the shower door, the wheel fell right when I arrived, it had a broken metal piece which I informed the staff immediately... On the morning of my departure I was told I need to pay it as the cleaning lady said it was working fine before. A thick metal screw! That kinda ruined the mood... Breakfast room is on the top with an amazing view. The breakfast ladies were very nice. Unfortunately not a lot of savoury options for breakfast, but a lot of nice cakes. I would probably choose a bigger hotel next time in a quieter location (as everything is within walking distance) and with sea view...
