We visited Tarbert for my partner’s birthday and stayed at Knap Guest House in the Chieftan Suite. The room was really impressive, with its own wee living room area and breakfast nook looking out over the harbour. The team we met were great and helped to arrange a wee birthday bottle of wine in the room for my partner. Breakfast was included each morning and the little list of items to choose from was also really good. The town itself it absolutely gorgeous, and we were lucky enough to catch some fireworks on the Saturday night. We would definitely recommend Knap Guest House and Tarbert as a fantastic place for exploring Argyle & Bute and Kintyre!

Highland Gem
Knap House is a real gem. The rooms are fantastic, nicely furnished and very comfortable. Alan is very Accommodating, a perfect host, just the place after a long day to relax and unwind.

Easy check in! Very clean! Excellent bed and bathroom! Breakfast was delivered to our door, The food was excellent! Will say you need to be comfortable with stairs! There are several excellent restaurants within walking distance. Parking is free along the waterfront. All rooms have great views of the port!!

Would highly recommend this little gem to any one ,lovely rooms great friendly service. Stayed for tarbet music festival one of three locations as left it late to book all three nights. Will be definitely be re booking for next year. Excellent location.

The Knap House is a clean and convenient little hotel in Tarbert which is a great place to stay if visiting the Isle of Islay & its distilleries. Its not fancy but has all the amenities. Having a refrigerator is a nice touch. Be ready to climb the stairs; most rooms are on the 3rd floor. The included breakfast was good.

What a cute suite! Right on the corner, we could see the bay and people watch. There is a corner store across the street and a great deli/takeaway downstairs. This was just what we needed after a long day in the car. We were lucky with the weather but I think it would be lovely no matter when you visit.

Good Size Room. Good breakfast. Location is fine. Clean. A bit strange you don't meet host - arrived using intercom, breakfast delivered to door in morning - strange but it does work. Table in room to eat from so all good. Would recommend. Ate out at local castle - again would recommend for views from restaurant.

The first impression was the view. It was absolutely beautiful. The room was nice, comfortable, and a good size. The proprietor was friendly and helpful.

This is a really nice guest house on the Front Street at Tarbert. The room was beautifully furnished and I especially liked the breakfast nook by the window. There is tea and coffee in the room with a small fridge holding proper milk and chilled water. Nice touch. The WiFi code is provided in the room as is a form to request your choice of breakfast which is delivered to your room for your selected time. Our room was on the 2nd floor and there are only stairs but it does have sturdy bannisters to help you get up them after a night of dancing or a day of walking.
