located slightly away from crowded library chowk of mussoorie, this resort provided me with wonderful experience of indian hospitality in many angles. from check-in, staffs welcomed me and my company with a lovely ceremony and tea with cookies. marriott app was extremely useful here as i could get my room ready right away for registering when i would be at the resort. i could refresh in a clean, spacious room then enjoy mini trekking with a professional guide at the resort then a tea ceremony with local flavor. i honestly planned nothing when walking into the resort but needed not to worry at all as they were equipped with a variety of entertainment programs. talking a little more about the room, many luxury brand hotels are obsessed with using western brand amenities, but i liked them using "himalayan" ones. they gave me stronger impression, and most importantly they were intended for multiple use, which i liked from the eco-friendliness point of view. besides, lovely terrace with a couch was a nice place to chill alone (it's always good to have options to engage with people as well as seize time alone for myself, isn't it). resort has a small but beautiful garden with fantastic view of mountains surrounding uttarakhand state too. food and beverages were also great. executive chef was a hands-on type of gentleman and helped me to absorb indian culinary culture by comparing indian dish with similar concept in my home country. indian spices may be too strong for some foreigners, but indian dishes at this resort wonderfully accommodated it without losing beauty of indian cuisine. i also had a chance to visit the spa, and it was an amazing experience. first of all, i felt reliable, welcomed by a female doctor in front of the spa. i was pretty determined in terms of treatment menu, but i believe she could be of big help for those who want spa experience but don't know what to choose. therapist looking after me was equally professional and caring as well. female guest tend to be sensitive before and during the treatment, and she understood it well and attended me as such. last but not least, i liked every single staff working at the resort. they were all trying their best to make their guests' stay a memorable one with their friendliness and professionalism. it might be dependent on guests' personality, but i personally liked staffs' asking how i like my stay so far as i have been seldom asked elsewhere. i wish more people outside india could know and visit this place! one thing i regret about my stay is that i was probably the only non-indian guest.
