I was booked into the Cadmore Lodge via *********** for 1 night in December, I had received an automated text message during the day stating that they were looking forward to my stay and to follow a link for express check in, which I duly followed. My husband and I set off with our 5 year year old daughter who was looking forward to the treat of a hotel stay. On arrival the reception was closed, there were still picnic tables outside and on first inspection nothing looked odd however we were unable to get a response from the hotel, we set off to the local village to get some bits for a dinner as we were getting cold and hungry, I was still calling the hotel incase the reception was closed temporarily. After sending a message via *********** messaging service and going back to the hotel it became apparent it was closed and some renovation was going on, I got a brief response from the hotel via *********** stating that they had closed 10 days prior and that they had let *********** know and asked to cancel future bookings. Luckily we were able to find space in a local b&b who informed us we were not the only ones who were not informed of the closure and were left with nowhere to stay. I have since had some conversations with *********** and back and forth about who's responsibility it was to cancel our booking, I am disappointed in both the hotel who had the booking (and it was paid upfront too!) And our contact details and it.seemed that they were aware of the lack of communication via *********** to.cancel future bookings but made NO effort at all to contact us and make us aware. We were left stranded with our small child and nobody gave 2 hoots about what happened or where we were meant to.stay in the middle of winter. I understand there was failings from *********** but as they were the booking platform the hotel is not blameless, they were aware bookings were not being cancelled but did NOTHING I will never book with this place again

An unpretentious place and perfectly good for B &B. Breakfasts were quite adequate and the room and bathroom were generously proportioned. The outstanding thing about this place is the quality of the staff. They were outstanding and would happily go the extra mile

Stayed here on a Friday night very quite but they were expecting a large wedding party to arrive. There is no provision for food at the moment but the lovely hostess gave us some alternatives for eating and we finally settled for a take away that deliver. She evened ordered for us both and the food showed up 25 minutes llater This wonderful lady could not do enough for us and the same attitude at breakfast. As it was an early start we were making along with another 2 sets of men she had the kitchen open for continental breakfast. A truly great experience. The rooms were large and I was lucky I got the walk in shower basically a wet room. As normal tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

The location of the hotel is outstanding and the setting in a country park is definitely the best feature of this hotel. We were booked for 1 night (Tuesday) and used the restaurant as there were no other eating facilities within a few miles. Tuesday night has a much reduced menu which we didn't find out till we got into the restaurant. The menu in the room made no mention of reduced menus on Mon/Tues.On ordering we were told there was no fish available from the limited menu and had been replaced by chicken. The cottage pie was very nice but the sausage was inedible as the skin was almost raw. The lady serving offered to replace the meal or rectify the situation which she did promptly. Breakfast next day was very good. The room was comfortable but we were booked into room 15 and when guests arrived in room 14 at about 21:00 we could every word of their face to face conversation, their phone conversations and their TV. The walls are literally like cardboard so no privacy. The TV reception was also intermittent and that was on an evening with reasonable weather. So the hotel and grounds are lovely, some of the decor needs freshening up (the stair carpet to the first floor was stained and looked like it needed a good clean), the staff were very hospitable and welcoming but beware of the reduced menu on Monday's & Tuesday's, be specific on how you want your food cooked to avoid disappointment and be aware of the lack of privacy between rooms 14 & 15.
