"We choose to stay here as my husband had a driving experience to attend near by. We were given keys to room 9 which was up stairs. We settled in and realised the tv wouldn’t switch on and the remote to the fan didn’t work. We reported this and the manager said he would check it out. We had a meal at the pub and I popped back to the room after that and could smell heat in the room like an electrical appliance had blown. The manager was very good and moved us to room 3, it wasn’t a bad room but very hot. The bed in that room wasn’t great and I ended up with back ache the following morning so we decided to make our way home that afternoon. I found the staff really helpful and the food was ok. The bathrooms at the pub could really do with renovating. On the whole the two bedrooms we saw were ok and clean."

"i was disappointed with the food. roast potatoes not crispy. veg bland. for the price i would have expected more. the standard needs raising. other pubs are outdoing them. for the reputation locally it is unjustified travelling. the village and the pub itself is lovely and worth a visit. infact the pantry has vastly superior food. friendly staff which was great but again for the prices they were scruffy which gave the impression of lack of professionalism."
