Wyndham Kona Hawaiian Resort

The staff at the Wyndham Kona was awesome, especially Joy, the woman who helped us make a lei. The front desk staff was very helpful. Our room smelled clean, but on closer examination the carpet needed cleaning and the area around the kitchen faucet needed attention. Probably due for a remodel. The facilities were good, but we wish there was something happening at the bar area of the pool. Our deck overlooked the pool/hot tub courtyard which was lovely, and not noisy. The grounds are nicely maintained. The only negative aspect was that we had trouble confirming our reservation. After my husband read reviews about people arriving and not having a reservation, I called the resort a number of weeks before our arrival. The woman I spoke to was very pleasant, but unable to confirm, suggesting that I call trip.com. Trip.com confirmed the reservation, and explained that they had sent a file to the resort, and the resort must not have opened it yet. I called a week later, and received the same information, so I asked trip.com to contact the resort, which they did. I believe that I made three calls to the resort and three calls to trip.com before the reservation was confirmed by Wyndham about a week before our arrival, which was a bit of a hassle, but everyone I spoke to was pleasant and tried to help. One person in a review said that they checked in late, after four I believe, and there was a problem with their reservation, but that wasn't an issue for us. We gave the resort our flight arrival time of 2:30, and they told us that we wouldn't be able to check in until 4pm, and we might as well go to Costco, which we did. Everything was fine.

We absolutely loved our condo! It had 2 bedrooms and the main suite had a jetted claw foot soaking tub, shower and double vanity, and ample space for all our clothes - there was also access to the huge balcony from the bedroom! There was a washer/dryer in the unit, which was an unexpected bonus, and the kitchen had everything you could want! The property was beautiful and very well maintained, and ohhhh, the hot tub was AMAZING! I'd definitely stay here again.

Had read a few reviews and decided this would meet my needs for a stay in Kona. It was a wonderful, clean, quiet stay and very walkable to Kona’s restaurants and shops. Will happily stay here again.

It was not property closer to the sea. There was no room service for changing towels, trash cleaning, etc. (even our stay was for more than a week.

Nice, family friendly property. Units were a little outdated but were equipped with everything we needed including a cooler (which was nice to take on day trips). We would definitely stay there again.

House is big, not far from downtown, save and peaceful. A bit of annoying with the 4:00pm to check in and 10:00am to check out.

If you don’t have a rental car skip this one. It is a timeshare property and of. Course they want you to try and buy one. Nice condos but NO amenities. Not even a coke or ice machine. I thought we were booking something different. And you have to walk a mile and a half to get to any restaurant! Taxis on Ilona are practically nonexistent. Just beware.

Conveniently located near the shoreline with beaches nearby as well as dining and shopping. The place was very well maintained inside and outside. Sitting on the large lanai was the perfect way to start and end the day.
