The Mumbles Carlton Hotel

A great location. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Terrible parking opportunities at busy times. The bed was uncomfortable & noisy. The Duvet required freshening up. Lack of staff presence during night. No security chain on room door.

Best hotel I’ve stayed at to date, very helpful staff on arrival, lovely clean and spacious room, bar staff very friendly couldn’t do enough, breakfast the next morning was superb, we had a great view from the bedroom looking over the bay, would highly Recommend we will definitely be back

We booked a deluxe room with breakfast, wow what can i say nothing positive we arrived 2.30pm the hotel was closed we were told by the neighbours its only open as and when?! Luckily a member of staff did appear to say oh you’re lucky you caught me, we were given our room key, informed that they didnt do food ? Breakfast is advertised as included on their cards, stair carpets covered in bits, got to our room it was absolutely disgusting, bathroom dirty and old the radiator was more rust that paint the hot water tap broke, carpets all frayed , doors scratched line something had been locked in trying to get out, tatty shelf to make cup of tea on over a radiator was dreadful, we travelled 4 hours to get here no hot water so we slept the one night and returned home just couldn’t stay there, no apology given, no help from *********** falsely advertised dont waste your money it was terrible

Extremely disappointing as we booked a room with a Seaview for one night (Sat) which turned out to be a postage stamp of a bedroom and bathroom with nowhere to place your luggage plus site work in front of our Seaview which cost £120 for the night!! Very limited free parking available in the vacinity of the hotel. So an overpriced hotel for what it offered especially if you compare it with the Village Hotel which was cheaper with far better rooms, facilities, parking and only lacking a Seaview. It was however a good location for nice eating places nearby as the Hotel does no food. If you do book be prepared to be underwhelmed with your room.

No amount of new paint could cover up this tired hotel. The bathroom was in very poor condition, with black marks on the walls, a broken shower surround and the extractor fan not working. Note there is no restaurant, thus no breakfast, and no bar. Although there were plenty of people drinking outside when we came back at night. We booked in for five nights but had to leave after four as we could not stand to stay there any longer. The only two good points were that the staff were friendly and the beds were comfortable.

Room were very clean and there was a fabulous shower in the bathroom. Tea and coffee available. Beds were very comfortable - I slept really well. There was a bar area and lounge where we were could go to sit but we meeting lots of Family/friends for a funeral so didn’t take the opportunity. Most of all we’d like to thank the owners who made us very welcome & answered all the numerous questions that we asked I loved the view of the sea from our bedroom!
