Woodland Lakes Lodges

Booked into a two storey lodge for 2 nights, awful dark smelly, so small, duck poo everywhere, just terrible, so went to reception to ask for another lodge as we were not staying in that Birch waterside lodge, reception not really interested just said well some are better than others! So we were allocated another lodge, we originally booked for a lodge overlooking lake, it’s not a lake just a small pond, overcrowded with ducks, The next lodge! Where to begin not any better than the first, duck poo everywhere, all over windows, awful damp smell throughout, mould patches on ceilings, dirty water stains on bed base frame, shower tray which must of got cracked filled in with a very large what looked like chewing gum, cracked sink in bathroom, mould in shower and on blinds, dents in the doors, broken pedal bin, awful smelly Lino curling at the corners. Me and my Daughter slept on sofa in living room and my husband slept on top of the bed. We’re meant to stay for 2 nights, ended up going to reception after first night to complain and hand keys back as we were not staying in that awful lodge, also loads of billy goats just roaming around and pooing everywhere!!! What an awful place. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay here.

Easy to check in, woodland lakes staff very friendly, the cabin itself was beautiful (107) The ducks coming outside the cabin was very cute day and night! Only negatives were that the cabin wasn’t very clean I found a biscuit under the bedside cabinet, the cups and plates all had bits of food on them, I could tell it was a very rushed clean. And the blinds in the bathroom area were very bowed so they were hard to open and close. Other than that great place would absolutely return

Would definitely recommend this place - the lodge was lovely and the lodge park has loads of facilities, sports bar is great and good to have a small shop on site at reception too. Restaurant is decent also. Only slight downside was our lodge didn’t have wifi and had poor signal but I should’ve checked that and not that it really mattered! Overall great and would go back.

Our lodge was in a great position - peaceful with a lovely view. Some of the interior was a little tired looking but it was clean and had everything we needed. The site is well kept and you can see that staff are constantly working to keep it that way. All the staff we came across were lovely and helpful and someone popped in on us to check we were ok soon after we arrived. We don’t eat in the cafe but the food always smelled nice and my daughter loved the slushies. There’s a shop at reception that sell the basics but it’s quite expensive. We had a lovely visit and have already booked to return next Easter.

Nice lodge (number 56), warm and clean. However, a few repairs are needed to improve comfort. One of the doors leading to decking was permanently full of condensation as the seal had obviously broken. The larger sofa collapsed and we had to replace the wood under the cushions, which had holes in them! The kitchen floor squeaked really badly too the park itself is really nice and staff were helpful. This was our 4th visit here.

We booked without reading the reviews and were a little nervous after reading some of them! But after spending a week there with my partner and 4 year old I must say I'm not sure where the bad reviews come from! We were in kinder Lodge 116 which was pet friendly even though we didn't book a pet friendly! Did have great Internet though. Very clean! Great kids room and patio area which my little boy loved riding his bike around. The hot tub was brilliant and clean, made use of it multiple times a day and was checked by the staff every day and refilled etc Kitchen was well stocked and we did take extra towels/bin bags/ washing up liquid as advised. Lidl and tescos a few minutes down the road. Pool was great and we were in there daily, the shop was OK for snacks and little toys for my son and the swimming section very well stocked. Reception staff very friendly, in fact every staff member encountered were great. The watermill and Harvey's bar were friendly, great food and amazing play area that kept our son occupied for hours. They experienced a power outage while we were there but put a bbq and bottled drinks on and saved the day! The cafe at reception we found slightly pricey but the food was good and it was convenient. No complaints (except the flies! But being in the middle of no where expected!) Would definitely recommend and we will be back. Tip: if going in summer where the windows and doors are open, I'd take some fly tape or something to help with the black house flies.
