The Golden Lion Hotel

We visited this pub a few times over a three day stay. It was carnival weekend, so we had a great view when sitting outside in the spacious garden area. The Sunday roast was great. The Yorkshire puddings were huge. The portions were generous, and the food was served piping hot and very promptly. Pureed carrots may not be to everyone's taste. It is advisable to book

We visited End May bank holiday for 3 nights. We found the accomodation clean & modern. Staff very friendly. The breakfast was very generous and was tasty. The sunday lunch is a must have. The only downside is the hotel is very popular and on sunday evening there was nowhere to sit. We had to take our drinks to our room. They could do with an area for residence only.

The Golden Lion is a very friendly and comfortable hotel . We stayed one night in room 12 . Very comfortable and great view of the green and sea . The staff are all friendly and always will to have a chat with you , Dani is very friendly. We live in Hunstanton and it’s nice to see the hotel is doing well, the new conservatory is a lovely place to sit and have coffee and cake . I would recommend this hotel . Keep up the good work .

The hotel in a great location with views across the green in Hunstanton and great views to the sea. Recently refurbished and the upgrades are excellent. Especially the bar and most recently the conservatory, plus sea facing garden area, plenty of space, tables and seating. This really makes the hotel a venue in its own right. Food is very good, good selection of wines and beers, and fabulous breakfast. Plenty of parking, with controlled access, so nice and secure. Then there’s the staff. Without exception, everyone is happy, happy to help, happy to serve, and clearly proud of their hotel. All excellent. Not our first visit, won’t be our last. You can see the investment being made in this hotel, and it’s all good. Next improvement I’d suggest a lift, even a small one, the demographic you serve, judging by the number I met struggling on the stairs, would appreciate it.

The bar, dining room & conservatory are really lovely. Food was good. Sadly ground floor rooms are tiny, clinical and smell of disinfectant. Horrible bathroom. Not a superior room at all more basic. Disappointed given GL belongs to Lodge group. It really is a flagship location and could well do well but it looks like refurb is not finished, has money run out? Also it’s a bit difficult at the entrance having to push past all the smokers. Could end up being a bit rough if management don’t keep standards high.

The position of the hotel with views across the Green to the sea and those spectacular sunsets is a great attraction. Our three night stay was thoroughly enjoyable. We opted to forgo a view from the room in order to be on the ground floor. It was excellently refurbished and comfortable. The public rooms (especially the conservatory) are also very comfortable. Restaurant food was good quality and the bar had three real ales (a bonus). Staff couldn't have been more pleasant and efficient.
