The location, opposite Jihwan Plaza, is incredibly convenient for enjoying the night view right outside. The hotel is very new, housed in a beautifully renovated building with nearly a century of history. The original structure, built in 1934, was formerly the Trust Post Savings Bank building. I chose to stay here specifically to experience its modern architectural aesthetics.
The hotel feels both warm and very modern. From the lobby to the rooms, you constantly perceive an interaction between classical and contemporary design. Walking down the thick-carpeted corridors and seeing the old-fashioned telephone at the corner, it evokes the charm of grand old hotels, exuding a sense of time-honored elegance. The room's amenities are comprehensive, and the layout is very well-designed.
My only minor complaints: standard rooms don't come with bathrobes; they're only provided in suites and above. While you can request them from the front desk, I didn't. As a guest, I enjoy value-added services, but I'm reluctant to ask for something that feels beyond the standard offerings, as it feels a bit like trying to get something for free. The other thing I disliked was the bedding. The sheets and duvet covers felt like 40-thread count at best, possibly even worse. I didn't sleep well for two nights; it was very uncomfortable. The pillows were also uncommonly uncomfortable.
Overall, the décor and hardware are excellent, but the comfort factor falls short. Despite being a beautiful and refreshing room, the lack of a bathrobe and poor bedding left me feeling a bit neglected.
The 24-hour gym is outstanding and absolutely gorgeous.
