We were so glad to find this beautiful, historic, quiet Inn in such a peaceful location, just ten minute drive from where we had a gig. The room and common space were in great condition and clean. The breakfast was delicious, and we enjoyed our conversations with the hosts

Lani & Karl made us feel right at home during our three nights stay this past Fourth of July weekend. The inn is comfortable and the breakfasts that were prepared for us each morning were delicious. We loved listening to the farm animals and seeing them roam around the property, especially their dogs. It’s close to Fort Ticonderoga so if you’re ever in that area, don’t hesitate to stay with this lovely family.

Our experience couldn't have been better. From a comfort standpoint, the Inn is beautifully organized and has a wonderful, homey feel about it. The bedrooms rooms are sparkling clean and comfortable. But the best part for me is the people and animals. The family is interesting and lovely to be with. The 4 children are around, being children, but not intrusive on the guests. One can take a tour of the property, which is vast and beautiful. But most amazing is the option to tour the barn project which Karl is engineering single handedly.. If you visit, be sure to ask about it!!

My wife and I had a most delightful stay for 3 days and we were made to feel at home with our gracious hosts Karl and Lani and really enjoyed getting to know them. The home is lovely and our room was immaculate and charming. Each morning we had the most delicious gourmet hot breakfast of eggs and bacon accompanied with either superb lemon poppy cake, warm éclair or coffee cake plus fresh cut up fruit. And of course, hot percolated coffee waited for us each morning with sugar and cream. We looked forward each morning to both their great breakfast along with engaging conversation and humor with our hosts and also talking with other guests from near and far staying there. The setting is lovely as you can see Lake Champlain from the property and take in the view of their working farm. The Inn is close to Fort Ticonderoga where we spent time visiting and make sure to stay at least 2 days to give time to take in the historic walking tour, live demonstrations, exhibits and historic narrated boat tour on Lake Champlain. We loved our visit and stay at The Inn on Lake Champlain that made for very fond memories!

The Inn on Lake Champlain has all the usual elements expected of a 5***** Bed & Breakfast – most gracious hosts who exude the definition of hospitality; comfortable and quiet accommodations, literally the shortest farm to table gourmet breakfast you will ever enjoy, all combined with the opportunity to meet interesting folks from points elsewhere. However, the Inn has another unique quality that separates it from the numerous B&Bs we have visited in our many years of travel. Karl and Lani Ohly are the proprietors of the Inn which is part of a “no, I am not kidding” real life working farm that includes horses, cows, chickens, two large but very, very benign dogs and an alleged cat on the premises. And have no fears, all animals live outside and do not interrupt your sleep! The Ohlys also have four lovely children. And have no fears, the kids live inside and do not interrupt your sleep! In fact, the family lives under the same roof of their incredibly well restored home somewhere that is separate from the B&B guest quarters. Somehow/someway, the Ohlys turn all of the above into a most wonderful and unique B&B experience. We departed bidding our heartfelt goodbyes as if the Olys were dear family members who had invited us for a weekend of fun, relaxation and friendship.

If you’re visiting the Ticonderoga area and are looking for an alternative to sketchy-looking chain motels or even sketchier-looking motels, this is a nice alternative. The property is a large working farm about 15 minutes outside of Ticonderoga, which is in the process of being remodeled by the owners. It is obvious that the owners are putting a large amount of sweat equity into the location, and when finished, it will be fabulous. Even as a work in progress, the rooms are quaint, pretty, and nicely decorated. It’s also quiet—at night, the only noise is the sounds of the crickets chirping outside. Several people have mentioned the breakfasts, and they’re right—fresh eggs, fresh baked bread, quality bacon—truly excellent. You can also sit on the porch in the evening as you watch the sun set and pet the friendly farm dogs and cats. A few things to know: 1). It’s an old farmhouse, so the stairs to the rooms are steep—that might be an issue if you have mobility issues. 2. WiFi connections were very spotty; great if you want to decompress, but not if you need to get work done in the evening. 3. There are a variety of things you can add to your stay (prices on the website) such as afternoon tea, eggs for purchase, pony rides, etc. We didn’t do any of them, but we saw others doing so, and they looked fun. 4. Agin, it’s a working farm with a family living there. It isn’t a “lounge in bed until late in the morning” kind of place, and besides, you wouldn’t want to miss the breakfast!

The most charming experience! The hospitality is amazing. We were greeted upon arriving and warmly welcomed. We were shown to our rooms and found them to be clean, beautifully furnished and very comfortable. The rooms are private from the family’s. It is a working farm so there are children and animals, all very well behaved and enjoyable to be around. The breakfasts are amazing, from the fresh fruit to farm fresh eggs and homemade pastries, you will not find a better start to your day. Thank you for an amazing visit. We will be back.

A hidden gem! We spent four nights at the Inn on Lake Champlain – Adirondack Farmstay Inn. The innkeeper and his family were very friendly hosts. The food was outstanding, rooms clean, and it’s a peaceful, quiet location. We were able to rest and relax, giving us a break from our busy schedule. I would definitely stay there again.

We enjoyed staying at this historic bed and breakfast during a recent road trip. The pastoral farm has a scenic view of Lake Champlain and is close to Fort Ticonderoga, Fort Defiance, the Lake George area and Vermont. The home is full of antiques with comfortable accommodations. We enjoyed visiting with the family and other guests. The breakfast offerings were delicious with farm fresh eggs, cheese, bake goods and fruit. Marilee S
