I’ve stayed at the HoJo in Tillsonburg on a number of occasions over the years. It’s nice and comfortable, basically a 2.5* hotel…the beds are excellent, the amenities are good. It used to be directly connected to the adjoining restaurant but the two now seem be under separate ownership. I’ve only heard good things about the restaurant but haven’t eaten there yet. Like all hotels today, nightly rates have gone up and it’s not as affordable as it once was.

Is a small, old property, it shows. If you keep your expectations within that boundary the hotel is more than fine. Places around the property close early (restaurants) just keep that in mind.

Rooms had a weird smell as if someone smoked in them previously even though they were non smoking. You could smell it from the carpets and the curtains a long with a musty smell. I changed rooms because the toilet would not stop running in another room and basically the whole room smelled like toilet water (it was not overflowing just would not stop running) I get that its an old building in a small town but they'res just too much that needs updating. Staff is so friendly though 10/10 for the two women at the front desk.

Little noisy, room had very good black out curtains. Breakfast was available 6-10 which was nice compared to those places where it ends earlier than anyone that isn't catching a flight wants to get up.

Best beds.
Cute room decor.
Coffee maker and fixings do not belong in the bathroom!
Chemical smell of cleaning products is too strong in hallway/stairway..
Offer earplugs.

It is clean enough but very dated and small. The coffee maker and coffee etc were kept on the very small counter in the bathroom. Kind of a gross place to keep it. Decor was a mix of ikea and old. Bed was very comfy. Breakfast was sp****. The hotel served its purpose for a quick place to stay but I probably wouldn’t return.
