The Barat Tioman Beach Resort Reviews

The hotel room is clean and fresh. Facilities very good. Staff all friendly. But i only not satisfied with the food. I stay for 3 nights, i tried breakfast buffet, dinner buffet, and also ala carte menu. The taste not so good. I think they should fired the head chef and find a good local chef who know how to cook local cuisines. A five star hotel must have a very good taste of foods.

This hotel never failed me, we had enjoyed the stays there. The hotel is quite a distance from the town (20mins taxi ride, but we enjoyed the scenery along the way). The hotel is not crowded, u can fully relax and enjoy the breeze without the crowds. The room is can consider clean, 2 queen size beds in a room are for my children. I asked for an extra mattress which charged me rm50 per night, I have encountered bed bugs sleeping on the mattress(but my two children beds are clean, they did not have the issue of bed bug). The hotel serve nice food, but a bit pricey. However, there are Malay stalls nearby which charged slightly cheaper and the food taste good as well. The hotel provides sea sports like snorkeling, diving, volleyball, jungle trekking, and there are band playing music (not during Ramadan). We will definitely come back.

The whole place was very nicely maintained & beautiful..very close to the beach. Got small huts & lazy chairs & mats to lie down at the beach - with chairs & tables to write on. The kayak & hiking to Lubuk Teja Waterfall is very accessible. Very satisfied with the stay.

I was very satisfied with the room's location, the hotel's service, the affordable and tasty food, and the beautiful view from the room. The villa even offered a jacuzzi, which was a real bonus! However, I do have to mention a problem: there were too many mosquitoes! I hope the hotel can find a way to solve this. I suspect there might be a gap somewhere in my room that the mosquitoes are getting through. Or, perhaps guests should bring plenty of mosquito repellent when they visit. I got quite a few bites.

I didnt expect too much for staying there. But service was quite bad. Hotel doesn't even provide the shaver. Staff should be trained how to talk professionally. Overall experience bad. Wont think again to go back

It was an awesome snorkelling trip for the kids who were doing it the first time. The food in every restaurant we went to were marvellous. The staffs are exceptionally friendly and making our days always. Will definitely be back there again and we already miss the water and the fishes...

The resort’s reception and staff are all so warm and welcoming, especially dear Aina. As we had difficulties trying to secure ferry ticket back to Mersing, Aina wasted no time in getting that sorted out and managed to book us a transfer to the jetty. The jungle hike booked through the resort turned out to be an eye opener and it was well worth the time and energy spent. Would love to visit Barat Beach Resort again, jumpa lagi!

The hotel charges 5-star prices, but the property and services are more like a 2-star motel. During my 3-day stay, the electricity went out 10 times. The prices are not just 5-star—they’re comparable to 7-star hotels—yet everything is extra. For example, one burger cost RM 30, and it was of very poor quality. The food is not international cuisine as advertised. Check-in is at 2:00 pm, but my family and I were left waiting since our ferry arrived at 10:00 am. Check-out is at 11:00 am. It’s clear why they do this so guests use less electricity and water yet we already pay extremely high booking rates. Overall, the experience was extremely disappointing. This was my last visit, and I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone unless both prices and services are significantly improved.

Niceplace

Food at restaurant was good and fairly affordable for some dishes. Not much service provided. Type of activities was normal. Room was basic and definitely not new. Has holes around which allow cockroach to pass through (found one at night in the shower). Swimming pool was basic too. House reef have to walk far away to the end of the beach. Filled mainly with Asians.

Great environment. Relaxing and doable. Great Sunrise except for occasional overcast. The beach is white. The size of the room is comfortable. Beds are big. The deluxe room has a small balcony which leads to the swimming pool and dining hall. The room is not the cleanest. Saw some baby cockroaches running around the bathroom. The pillows are way too soft. The Aircon power is very weak Occasional power trips. There are a few dive shops along the way. Good selection for divers who wants different experience diving around Juara. Food prices are average. There is a roti canai shop mia cafe. Which sells out out very quickly. Be on time at 7am if you want to try it.

Chill hotel, staffs are friendly and accommodating, receptionists are doing a great job. Food is towards the expensive side but there are other food options around. Would be great if the hotel stop charging in-house guests for snorkeling equipment. Nevertheless, we enjoy our time in Barat.

Near the juara jetty and convenient

The hotel is 30mins ride away from jetty and the road was bumpy and steep and it cost rm30 per trip per pax. Won't recommend for elderly and small children as the ride is very bumpy and my husband felt car sick after the ride. The hotel is quite clean but the beach cannot snorkel as there is waves. It is more suitable for surfing. There is nothing much to do at the resort in the afternoon either go to ali waterfall or swim at the pool. Will book other hotels next time.
