Highly recommended! The Reef Inn in Tokashiki offers excellent value for money. It is a budget-friendly accommodation, so you should not expect luxury or high-end facilities, but it delivers exactly what you pay for. The rooms are simple, clean, and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed. If you’re looking for an affordable place to stay while enjoying the beautiful island and beaches of Tokashiki, this is a great choice. Excellent price-performance ratio and a clear recommendation.

The location was really great. There are restaurants and bus stops nearby, and best of all, you can get to the beach right away.

I wouldn’t say the hotel wasn’t clean or that the peoples weren’t nice. However I would say that it’s UNFAIR to take my money for a trip I didn’t do because of WEATHER CONDITIONS. Due to high waves, not a single boats were able to reach Tokashiki Island during my stay at Okinawa, leaving me without a hotel for three days in a row. I made a request to get my money back, and despite giving them proof that I can’t come to Tokashiki, they choose to not cancel the reservation and foremost NOT give the money back. 333$ throws out of the window due to a LACK of understanding and comprehension. They could’ve just give me, at least, half of my money back, but no. They kept it all for them, because they’re thief. I paid for a room that I didn’t even step into, for sheets I didn’t slept in and a bathroom I didn’t used. I understand the non-refund policy, BUT WHEN THE PROBLEM COMES FROM THE CLIENT AND NOT NATURE ITSELF !!!! I wouldn’t recommend booking here, it’s a waste of time and MONEY.

I loved everything: the food and service, the cleanliness, and the beautiful beach just a three-minute walk away. I'll definitely be back.

A basic stay very close to Ahren Beach. We stayed in a tatami room, struggling for more than one night with crabs. I'm not saying the room was dirty—it's probably a widespread problem on the island, as the owner, who provided us with bug spray, told us—but finding crabs in the bed is truly shocking. We also had to return a day early due to a typhoon, and the property told us they would refund the lost night, but we'd have to contact Trip. We made two requests to customer service, both of which were cancelled by the property, which didn't keep its word. They're also unreachable; we tried email, Instagram, and even Messenger, but never received a response. It's a shame, because despite the language barrier, the staff was kind to us throughout our stay.

The staff were all very polite and attentive. The facilities were a little old, but we had a very comfortable stay. Even after checking out, we were able to use the shared floor for storing our luggage and eating, so even with our children, we were able to enjoy the beach for a long time on our last day.

I have read the reviews of this establishment after my own experience and there seem to be a reoccurring theme - scam, be rude and aggressive. The Reef inn Kuniyoshi staff is out to take your money and has no shame or honor in doing so. My own experience was parking at an grass patch, where there was parked an minibus - there was no sign telling us this was no parking or limited parking. We went for a quick lunch at the beach and came back 30 minutes later - when we came back someone had put up a sign stating it was 1000 JPY per 10 minutes for parking. The exit from the area was now also blocked, intentionally it turns out, by a minibus. We were approached by a tall Japanese man maybe around 50 years old wearing a cap and sunglasses. He shouted and yelled like a hooligan and threatened to call the police if we did not pay him 3000 JPY. He tried to make himself as large and intimidating as possible to make us give him the money. We paid the man because we have better things to do than spending time on such sad and pathetic behavior. To me this appears to be yet another sad story for this establishment and the shameful behavior of its associates. Stay away - there are great people and great places to stay on this island, go there instead.
