Hyatt House Tokyo Shibuya

Very strange rooms at Hyatt House Tokyo Shibuya. This hotel had really weird rooms. The interior was extremely basic — plain white walls and almost no character. There are two types of rooms: twin rooms, which are massive, and king rooms, which are half the size — yet both are priced the same. Of course, all the twin rooms were fully booked, and only the small king rooms were available. Why they designed it this way is beyond me. Also, the renovation quality is oddly poor for a Hyatt. I know it’s a different branch (Hyatt House), but still — for a four-star Hyatt property, this was way too basic and underwhelming. Definitely not up to expectations. And one more thing I absolutely hate — the 11:00 a.m. checkout policy that some hotels in Japan have. Not only do they make you leave at 11 sharp, but here they literally called the room at 11:01 to remind us to check out. No grace period, no flexibility, just “get out.” Super unfriendly. Just be warned — they will kick you out at 11:00 on the dot.

Hotel was really clean and location was very convenient. 7-11 and family mart within 1 min walking distance. The room was spacious and amenities are readily available!

Hotel was newly opened so everything was sparkling clean Being a Hyatt there were more American / foreign tourists staying here than usual Entrance (both walk and especially cab) was tricky to locate but after you found it once, you'll realize how easy it is to get around from this hotel. Very convenient. Rooms were good sized for Tokyo. Washing/drying machine plus kitchenette were perfect for those with kids.

Something wrong with the service. My reservation clearly says breakfast for one included. They refused to provide that. I paid for breakfast in the 11th. Then ate breakfast elsewhere. This kind of error shouldn’t happen.
