Third time staying at this hotel. All is good as usual! Definitely will recommend to those who wish to be near Ueno, skyliner, plenty of different JR lines, but also to be slightly away from the crowd so it’s more quiet.

Location of this hotel is good. Close to subway train, but for JR station Ueno is quite a bit distance. Room is tiny but suit for 2 people. There is some dirt on the wall that should be cleaned up..

Greeat location. The hotel is not far from ueno station with convenient store right in front of the hotel.

Traveling to Japan alone with two kids was quite an adventure, and this hotel was perfectly located, very close to Senso-ji Temple and Ueno Park. They have front desk staff who speak Chinese, which made check-in very smooth. The hotel offers great value for money. I highly recommend it to everyone and will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Tokyo.

This hotel turned out to be a hidden gem. The reception staff were always smiling and even helped me book tickets for an attraction. The room was neat, quiet, and far better than what I expected for the price. The location couldn’t be better—being so close to the metro made my trip much easier.

The front desk staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, offering thoughtful recommendations for nearby restaurants and attractions. The room offered great value for money, and the location was very convenient. Highly recommended! (The photo shows the 11th-floor Sky Lounge, where the breakfast ambiance is excellent.)

There was a lot of dust, so I always kept the door open. The ventilation wasn’t good, so even when I opened the windows, it felt stuffy. The air conditioner is the only ventilation option. It’s a straight distance from Ueno Station, and there’s a 7-Eleven convenience store nearby. The hotel is also connected to a small drug store and the check-in lobby. The service was very friendly. If you’re looking for a private room near Ueno for under 10,000 yen per night, I would recommend this place. As of August 2025, accommodation costs in Japan are very expensive.

Hotel room is small, far from Ueno, about 1.3km, ok if you ok if you are looking for budget, otherwise not recommended for more than 1 person.

You need to exit from Iriya exit to get closer to the hotel but walk from hotel to Hibiya line Iriya station you will find Unagi restaurant and Gindago tagoyaki shop. The area less busier than Ameyoko that need long queue before you can enjoy your meal.

The staff was very aggressive and ask to charge for ¥2,200 for parking the car to drop the luggage off in front of the hotel.  We found this really strange, my husband said so do taxis pay 2200 every time they drop someone off?? The man finally dropped it when my husband came over to question this. Rooms are very small so if you are carrying a lot of luggage be prepared for a tight fit. Location is average you have to walk about 20 mins to the train station. Better hotels, service and location available further down the road closer to transport. If you have a car parking in this area is very expensive.

Small room size is normal for staying at this price in Tokyo. A twin bed room is slightly bigger. If you want more space, book a twin room. Staffs are nice and willing to help. Clean room. Recommended. :)

Everyday need to walk ~20mins to and from Ueno Station. Not very friendly if you have a large luggage bag. And the room is dark due to the walls are of dark brown wood color. The brightest place is the toilet. This hotel was recommended by a friend but will not be my choice when I next visit Tokyo

Stayed here with a friend and had a good experience. The hotel is connected to a pharmacy, with a 7-Eleven located nearby. The location is practical, about a 10-minute walk to the metro, making it easy to get around.

The toilet has a bit smell, though the room provided the air fresher, it’s not gonna work at toilet

Distance: Very far from the Ueno Station (800m), unless its summer time and you are okay to walk. Its dead cold in winter and to walk to the Station is quite a challenge. Breakfast: Below average. Though they have the basic stuff like bread, noodles, miso soup, vegetables and eggs, by Japanese standard, it is not very appetising. Comparing this to a Japanese-managed hotel of the same class like Ueno Guest1 that we stayed last year, the breakfasts were outstanding - The noodles, breads, and miso soup etc were tasty, and the refilling was fast, because they have 2-3 waitress eager to serve and replenish the foods and ensure new guests coming in for breakfast feel welcoming and the foods are piled up in pristine condition. On day 1 of the breakfast, we noticed some guests were served fried eggs so we tried to order some on day 2 but was either dismissed or was promised but ignored after that, quite a disappointment actually. We are not alone in their bad breakfast reviews, there are several out there! So, I suggest they try out some breakfasts in Japanese-managed hotels of the same class and copy from there. Another low point is the breakfast area - If it is sunny, and if you are unlucky to come when there is some crowd at the breakfast terrace / rooftop, it is very very warm and glaring if the front seats (Away from the sunlight) are taken and you have no choice but to take the back seats which most are hit by direct sunlight, even on winter cold days, the bright sunlight is really unbearable to have a good breakfast to start off the day. Hotel should install shades to filter away the sunlight! Rooms: The rooms we chose were fortunately large enough to walk around and roomy for the luggages. Toilet is also roomy and everything works fine. The only thing is the rooms are pretty dusty and especially the corners are full of dust. We are okay with that, and did not give much attention to it, but yes it is true from some reviews that the rooms are indeed dusty. With the price, I will probably go for Ueno Guest1 or APA hotels
