Room is big enough for family with kids, the king bed is big for 2 adults and 2 kids. They provide us a cot for my 4mth old baby as well. The bathroom is big and my kids love the bathtub. Breakfast and lounge are great too! The services are superb!! Highly recommended to everyone!!
The hotel's unique sailboat-like exterior makes it a Yokohama landmark! It's located right by Yokohama Port, next to an amusement park where you can see the Ferris wheel. The ropeway station is also conveniently close. The Cup Noodles Museum is just across the bridge, making it perfect for family trips. The Red Brick Warehouse is within walking distance, and there are large shopping malls and supermarkets nearby. It's a bit of a walk from Sakuragicho Station, about 20 minutes on foot.
We stayed in a Bay View room for two nights this time. The room was spacious with a beautiful view overlooking Yokohama Port. Every morning around 6 AM, we could watch cruise ships docking. The bathroom was also large, and all the toiletries were Byredo. It's a shame there wasn't an extendable magnifying mirror, which made it a bit inconvenient for my husband to shave. Two bottles of mineral water, with cute bottles, were provided daily.
The hotel offers a shuttle bus to Haneda Airport with several departures throughout the day. You can choose a time that suits your flight; no advance booking is needed, just wait at the hotel entrance. You can pay with a Suica card on the bus, and it's 1000 yen per person, which is quite a good deal. It saved us the hassle of lugging our luggage onto the subway.
The location isn't in the city center; you'll need to take a taxi (around 2400 JPY) or the subway to get to Yokohama Station. However, the Yokohama Port area is beautiful, especially the comfortable sea-view side.
Being a new hotel, the facilities are excellent, no complaints there.
The room hygiene was superb, but since most of the cleaning staff are Indian, the room had a distinct smell after cleaning that required opening a window to air out.
The low score for service is mainly due to the breakfast manager on the first floor. He was a typical middle-aged Japanese man. Despite there being 7 or 8 clean, empty tables, he insisted on making a family in front of us and us wait (the family in front was also Chinese). After 5 minutes, he finally seated the family, leaving us still waiting. At this point, the other service staff inside noticed us standing and waiting and seemed confused. They immediately seated us at an empty table, and subsequent guests were seated directly as well. I wanted to confront this man afterward, but I never saw him again until after we finished our meal.
An absolutely fantastic stay! The hotel offers unparalleled views of the Rainbow Bridge and the bay right from our window. Our room was also very spacious, allowing us to sit by the window with a cup of tea, relax, and enjoy the scenery.
The service was exceptional too. We took the front desk's recommendation and purchased a meal package for 8,000 JPY per person, which included breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner. While we initially thought it was a bit pricey, our dining experiences outside the hotel over the following days made us realize just how great the value of this package was. We arrived in the afternoon, so we enjoyed dinner on our first day, afternoon tea on the second, and breakfast on the third. Every single meal was absolutely stunning; even my usually picky husband couldn't stop raving about them! I genuinely recommend this to anyone visiting Japan for the first time – their authentic first Japanese meal was truly unforgettable. 👍
The hotel's location is also excellent. It's about a 30-minute walk to Ginza, which was perfect for us as we enjoy walking. On our second evening, we also took a scenic bay cruise, with the pier just a three-minute walk from the hotel. You can ask the front desk manager at the hotel to assist with booking cruise tickets. The cruise lasts two and a half hours and includes dinner, with three price tiers available. We opted for the mid-range option at 18,000 JPY per person. We booked the 7:00-9:30 PM dinner cruise, which allowed us to admire the sparkling city lights along both banks.
Even after visiting Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara afterwards, this hotel still remained unforgettable! Highly recommend! 👍👍👍
