Tokyu Stay Nishi Shinjuku

Tokyu Stay Nishi Shinjuku

Shinjuku/Nakano Tokyo|0.75km from Naruko Tenjin Shrine
First the positives and then a negative. Great location, about 15 min walk to bustling central Shinjuku. Family Marts etc., eateries all around and metro 2 min walk away. The area is perfect as it's quieter, even close to a lovely park and all amenities at your door. Besides needing a good dust and coffee marks wiped off the wall, the hotel is clean and comfortable. There is free coffee and toiletries in the reception area the included washing machine/dryer in the room was a huge plus. YOU WILL NOT GET EARLY ROOM ACCESS EVEN IF YOUR BAGS ARE WAITING IN YOUR ROOM. We arrived early morning knowing we would not be able to check in until the afternoon so staff stored our luggage as expected. When we arrived back at the hotel at about 1:30pm and our bags were nowhere to be found the receptionist informed us they had already been taken to our room as the room was ready. Excited about finally getting access to a shower and some rest after a long flight we anticipated this meant we would be able to enter the room. The receptionist then left to speak to who I imagine is a manager only to come back and tell us check in is at 3pm so we have to wait until then and if we wanted to access the room early it would cost 1,000 yen per person. I know check in stated 3pm but I found this to be exceptionally poor customer service. Seeing as our bags were already in the room it would have made absolutely no difference to the hotel for us to enter the room 1 1/2 hours early but instead the rigid rule left quite a very negative impression. We did end up getting access at 2:30pm only because an elderly Japanese gentleman wanted to check in at this time and they didn’t want to make him wait in the lobby. The negative experience is such a shame because had this not have occurred I would return on my next trip.

Book and Bed Tokyo Shinjuku

Shinjuku/Nakano Tokyo|0.76km from Naruko Tenjin Shrine
It was the worst. The payment procedure on the website was completed the previous month and I received multiple confirmation emails for reservations with breakfast. It is okay to call the name if the check-in is 9 p.m. in the daytime, so when you go to 9 p.m., there is no name in the guest list. I showed all the driver's license for confirmation of the person, the email of the reservation confirmation, and the record of the exclusive site on the spot, but ”it is full today, so it cannot be stayed” and ”the reason of the airhost of the reservation system” It was the worst result that I was able to travel from the country to Tokyo and was driven out in the middle of the night during the bad weather when the typhoon approached. When I tell you that I'm paying my credit card, I say, ”Is it a day youth mistake?” The email presented and the confirmation page of the reservation site definitely write the date of check-in check-out, and there is breakfast (there are multiple evidence of reservation confirmation in front of you) So I was surprised that I couldn't stay at one point. If you complain to the receptionist, you can't help but complain, and because it is full, you will force someone out of the bad weather, so if you ask about the place where you can give up and stay nearby It is said that there is an Apa Hotel opposite, and when I go, the Apa Hotel is closed for a long time. It was quite a bit because the cheerful club at the west exit of Shinjuku Station, which another receptionist told me, was miraculously empty only one room, but this terrible experience is the first level in my life. The next day, I emailed you to tell you that I wanted you to disable the payment of your credit card, but there is no contact about apology or settlement processing. In that situation, I had an email that urged TripAdviser to post the impression ”how was the stay?” I thought that I would refrain from publishing it if I had a proper contact, but I will write it as a reminder so that I don't think I should do the same. It's horrible to think that if your child has the same experience.

HOTEL GROOVE SHINJUKU, A PARKROYAL Hotel

Shinjuku/Nakano Tokyo|0.78km from Naruko Tenjin Shrine
Getting there Getting to the hotel from narita airport, you can take the keisei skyliner to change at Nippori at the Yamamote line to change and stop at Takanobaba and change to another train Seibu Shinjuku station. It will be a few minutes walk to the hotel from there. Very convenient. To go back to the airport, book yourself an express bus directly at the lobby entrance (QR code is there) with a screen on the departure timing to various airports so you don’t have to lug your luggage. Stay Luxurious hotel right smack in the middle of all the action, eateries, shopping, etc. I stayed for 7 nights at the premier suite which I believe had one of the best views around this area. Room is spacious for Japanese standards. And the 2 toilets and 2 bath is something we really appreciate. Amenities are all given, and you have everything in the room, including a Marshall Bluetooth speaker. Staff are friendly and eager to help during check in etc. I did not have much chance to interact with them since I also did not book one with breakfast. One tip is the enter the hotel through Starbucks directly downstairs, instead of going one round to enter the lobby. Just cut through Starbucks and go down the stairs immediately and make a left turn to the lobby. Afterthoughts Good and new hotel in an excellent location. Some things will need to be improved, out of the 7 nights, I only request for rooms to be cleared twice. The first time, housekeeping forgot to refill my towels after removing them, forgot to refill our drinking waters and even left a dirty tshirt in my toilet that don’t belong to me. I believe that could be used by them to clean the toilet, else no reasons someone’s dirty tshirt is found and left in my toilet. Should have definitely used a cleaner rag to clean up the toilet. I did not crate a fuss about it but just took the tshirt out of the room since it is a new hotel that just opened for one week and all staff are new too. But this should not happen next time again, especially since this is a suite booking. P/S check out Ichiran 3 mins walk away and the 24 hours Don Quixote too.

Kadoya Hotel

Shinjuku/Nakano Tokyo|0.79km from Naruko Tenjin Shrine
4.5 stars! My spouse, son, and I have previously stayed at Kadoya in December 2019. I was delighted with our most recent stay in February 2023. Last time, I booked a triple bed room. This time I booked a ”Fourth Standard - 2 king beds (Universal Design Type -B” room. What a terrific room. The tv set was massive! Even I had to grin at the size of the tv screen. There was a ledge behind the bed which was convenient to put cups on during our evening beverages. We also used the ledge to place our cellphones on overnight as they charged. Ample electrical plugs. The room has a small fridge to keep drinks cool. A microwave is located in the laundry room. The laundry room also has two washing machines and two dryers. All coin operated. There is also a vending machine in the laundry room. Handrails in the shower/tub of the bathroom much appreciated. Staff at Kadoya that I encountered were very pleasant and helpful. I requested front desk staff to kindly print out documents and they did so without hesitation. Housekeeping staff is friendly and promptly brought me towels and extra wooden hangers when requested. Daily housekeeping service. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash all had a pleasant fragrance. We were provided with feather-free pillows and feather-free duvets given our allergies. Room was clean. Ample space for 4 luggages. Excellent location. Close to Shinjuku station. Several dining options nearby. Pharmacy nearby. 24 hour Lawson convenience store next door. Another Lawson across the street. Travel tip: We arrived at Kadoya using the Airport Limousine Bus which departed from Narita. I chose the Keio Plaza Hotel instead of the Shinjuku stop as it is closer to Kadoya. Get off at the Keio Plaza stop and walk through the lobby. Leave the Keio Plaza hotel and walk 2 blocks to Kadoya. When going to Narita, in order to get to Narita quicker I booked the Airport Limousine Bus to depart from Shinjuku as the earliest bus leaving from Keio Plaza hotel was not early enough for me. Catch the bus from Bus Stop 23 located right in front of the Airport Limousine Bus ticketing office, to the left of Keio department store. Currently, Airport Limousine Bus routes and schedules are reduced. All in all a pleasant stay at Kadoya!

A vey nice place at an extremely convenient location. The place is literally right next to the Nishi Shinjuku station on the big road. Shinjuku and all the nightlife is just a short walk away. For this price, I recommend to all solo travelers if you're in this area.

The old 5-star hotel is quite satisfactory. There are many European and American tourists. It is about a 15-minute walk from the Shinjuku business district. The taxi costs 700 yen. The fly in the ointment is that the price is too expensive.

In the evening, after a long flight, in the drizzling rain, we found it difficult to find the hotel at first. Fortunately, it only takes 7 minutes to walk to Shinjuku Station, and it is not far from the Tokyo Government Building. As long as you find it the first time, you won't have to worry about finding it again next time. The ramen coffee shop around the corner and the local convenience store offered a variety of simple and cheap food, which was especially helpful for our jet lag recovery. We don't eat hotel food. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, and the free Lavazza coffee from the machine in the lobby was great. Yes, the rooms are small, but that's common in Tokyo. We just sleep with it. The staff are friendly, I would book again for this price.

Shinjuku/Nakano
A Japanese hotel that is suspiciously fluent in English. A convenience store is nearby. Everything is located a bit far away, but you can get there within 5 minutes, so I don't think you need to worry about distance. The best part is that I like the safety~~~! I think it's not a bad choice if a woman comes alone. The room condition is a bit soundproof due to the nature of Japanese hotels, but I think it's okay for this price. I plan to stay again next time.
