The hotel is charming and in quiet and enviable position - you can walk into Torquay in 15 mins or follow the nearby coastal path to reach it in about 30 mins. (The beach too, with its outdoor cafe, is also only a short walk away) The staff couldn't have been more welcoming - in Reception and in the Dining Room - and the food (and the choice) was excellent throughout our stay. Its no coincidence therefore that many of the other guests we spoke with were regular 'returnees'.

This is a great Hotel, the Restaurant food is excellent, service was good and all the staff were pleasant and helpful (especially Linda) I stayed 5 nights and apart from the weather I had a really nice time. The photos are my dinners over the time I was there.

A very friendly hotel. The staff were lovely. The biggest TV we've ever had in a Hotel room. A good blend of traditional and modern decor in the public rooms. The food was cooked to perfection and a very good choice on both the breakfast and evening menu.

First class throughout. Could not fault hotel food or entertainment. Staff were friendly helpful and very efficient Very good value for money. Quiet area and a short stroll to a seafront cafe. Nice quiet lounge area for daytime and evening entertainment, Well kept verandah and garden area with seating.

A lovely place to stay with some of the best food that we’ve ever tasted during a UK hotel break. We would happily visit again. We had a cosy sea view room which was cosy but perfectly adequate for a two night stay, but our friends had a much larger premiere room which was much more spacious and had a much larger bathroom and appeared to have been newly refurbished. Our deal included a cream tea on arrival, two five course dinners, two breakfasts and a 3 course Sunday lunch before we left and the food and table service couldn’t be faulted. There was also singers on both nights who both had good voices and were an added bonus. The hotel was a little way from the harbour but a nice but hilly walk, if you enjoy walking, and there was ample parking very close if the hotel car park is full. All in all a nice break in a lovely part of the UK.

This was our second stay at The Balmoral and it was a lovely experience. It is amazing value for money. The food is all home made and a high quality and so much of it! We are vegetarian but the choice was varied and so tasty. We had a cost double and it was just what we needed. The hotels ambience is stylish and the grounds are beautiful. Lots of lovely walks around the area also. There was nothing to complain about other than there being too much food! Well done and we would definitely recommend.

Very comfortable, entirely satisfactory, friendly helpful staff. Our room had a good sized en-suite bathroom, there was a large, cosy lounge, and the garden was spectacular (it will be a boon in summer). The location is ideal: close to the shore but around the headland from the main beach. Talking to staff, we learned that many customers return multiple times, and people often meet up with each other on return visits. That says a lot for this hotel.

We were a party of 19. Great food and very friendly and efficient staff. A couple of showers didn't work very well and some of the rooms were a little cold. Overall though a very enjoyable weekend. Good entertainment and the hotel had a lovely atmosphere. We will certainly go back.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at this hotel ,our room was a bit small so would try for a bigger one on our next visit.The lovely menu is changed daily with plenty of choice. Cannot fault this hotel .the management and staff should be proud of their business.
