Parador de Tortosa Reviews

The room was very humid and damp. The temperature in the room was not controlled well, so it felt like I was staying in an ice cave. Breakfast is also lacking compared to other 4-star Spanish hotels. The Tortosa area near the Parador is also not popular with tourists.

Beautiful location. Rooms and suites a bit dated. Hot tub in the suite was broken. The average restaurant is only twice as expensive as in the city. Friendly staff. Tortosa is fun for a day. Lots of impoverishment and vacancy.

Perfect location with beautiful views, cleanliness in the room and good service from the staff.

Stay in a castle for a night and be a princess for a day

Super hotel in a castle, clean, quiet Check-in is quick, the rooms are clean, parking is free, the views from the window are 5 out of 5. There is only one recommendation, make a fan in the bathroom with a switch, it is noisy at night

A fantastic hotel, a must-visit if you want to make unforgettable memories! please! I recommend it. The reception is really friendly, a unique hotel, in a historic area. One night, an unforgettable memory. facilities Although it looks old, it is well maintained and cleaned. There is a lot of parking space, but it is a bit far from downtown.

La vida en castillo. Confortable rooms with nice bathrooms and with nice esthetics. This historic parador is huge. The view from our room (balcony) was on the parking and the town and the river Ebro. The bar is very cosy inside and the restaurant is nice. Unfortunately the beer choice is limited to the big Madrid brewery Mahou, while there exist much better beer in Catalunya.

Seriously disappointed. Dutch friends recommended this parador, talking about the spectacular views. So we decided to splash out on a superior room….. MISTAKE ++. We were allocated room 215, and were intrigued to find after we had left that someone else had written a review, negatively mentioning this particular room . They (sensibly) insisted on having a different room - we didn’t - another MISTAKE ++ We can confirm that room 215, whilst being spacious, is sad and gloomy but indeed it has a very special view…of the fire escape staircase and access to the pool area. It also meant that our room, as well as being overlooked from the stair area, could have been very easily accessed from this staircase. Unlike the impressive views from rooms on the other elevation, which we spotted whilst these were being cleaned the following morning. Room 215 sadly needs a complete makeover. The French doors metal closing bolts and furniture were old and very difficult to use/close; the varnish on the doors was aged, peeling and disintegrating; the waxed floor looked like it needed a complete ***** and re polish. The wooden bedhead looks majestic, sadly we had to get up and stuff a fold of toilet paper (clean!!!) in a couple of places as every time someone turned over it banged against the wall. (Wonder if those wedges are still there!) Something tiny but important item fell onto the bathroom floor, under the double sinks. Eventually found it by sweeping hand across the floor surface… another MISTAKE ++ , ….. at least there was plenty of hot water and soap to wash the exceedingly grimy hands afterwards! Bar service a tad on the slow side if you made yet another MISTAKE of sitting outside. Breakfast another MISTAKE ++. Apart from finding it annoying to have to decide the night before what time you might want to get up, and needing to book a specific breakfast slot, it was very disappointing to order scrambled eggs and fried eggs each with bacon, only to have them served tepid at best. Have stayed in a significant number of paradors, but sadly this proved to be our least enjoyable.

The exterior view was just as we hoped but the interior , staff, food and pool made the stay a marvellous one.

Standard Parador Castle. Local produce in the Restruant was interesting and educational. Breakfast varid and comprehensive.

During our stay of 3 nights we could enjoy the visit of the rich historical remains at Tortosa and enjoy the facilities of the nice Parador

This is a fantastic place to stay. Well located, good parking, great food. Everything was clean and well attended, will definitely return when we have more time to enjoy everything.

Lovely old castle style on a hill at the edge of the town. Well situated for access to the cathedral and the indoor market.Easy and plentiful parking. Disappointed that the restaurant did not open until 20h00. This is so Spanish, where they eat late. It is too late foe most of the rest of the world particularly Americans who eat early. Also too late for older people or those with digestive issues and who need to eat by 19h00. If I could have eaten an hour earlier, it would have opened up more of the menu for me, especially the red meat options. Too late to eat them sadly. Had to choose fish.
