Self check-in was a hassle and not user-friendly. There was too much information required, and some was even missing. Early check-in before 3 PM was impossible. The single staff member on duty wasn't welcoming at all. There was no water in the room; you had to go to the lobby to get some. The lobby was spacious but wasn't cleaned regularly, so it felt dirty. The Wi-Fi in the room was completely non-existent. Accessing the room with a passcode was very inconvenient. The hallways were extremely dark. The lighting and switch placement in the room were poorly designed, and trash wasn't collected daily.

The hotel was clean and tidy, and the service was pretty good. The onsen (hot spring) was excellent and very hot; there's even an outdoor one where you can soak while watching the snow. The price was fair. The only thing that could be improved is that breakfast and dinner could be a bit more varied. Oh, and the complimentary sake was fantastic!

Conveniently located with clean and tidy rooms. The welcome bar in the lobby is great, offering drinks and some desserts. The hot spring is decent, but it seems to be segregated by gender with different time slots for evenings and early mornings. There are two shuttle buses to Toya Station every morning, which need to be booked by scanning a QR code at the hotel. Breakfast is also pretty good.

If you're reading this review, I suggest staying at a different hotel, unless soaking in a large public bath is your absolute priority. We didn't realize the room had no shower facilities, and the booking instructions were unclear. The sink had grime, and both the toilet and sink were leaking. Plus, there was no hot water at the room's sink – only icy cold water, which made my hands red from washing. The toilet had a strange odor, the hallway was dimly lit, and there was absolutely no soundproofing. Guests are expected to make their own beds and bedding. My friend said the pillow was harder than her life! The heater inexplicably turned on by itself in the middle of the night. Overall, the experience was truly awful. To get this kind of experience for this price is quite something, in a bad way :) However, I do want to commend the night staff. My luggage lock broke, and he promptly helped me fix it. Super grateful for that!
