Trikala Hotels with Bars

We initially contacted the hotel to enquire about availability, rates and pet policy. Everything seemed to be normal so we proceeded with a reservation by e-mail and booked a triple room for 2 adults, 1 child and a small puppy dog for one overnight. On the day of our arrival in Trikala, we called the hotel to get directions for their private open-air parking which is located about 700 m. away from the hotel (about 15 min. walking distance). Soon after that, we arrived at the hotel and stood in front of the reception as the lady receptionist was on the phone. Unfortunately our small puppy urinated on the floor while we were still waiting for the lady to check us in. Although it was not our puppy's fault to pee on the floor of a pet-friendly hotel, we apologized letting her know that we had dog diapers in our luggage in order to put them in the room. The receptionist started moaning telling us that all dogs should be well trained in order to avoid such incidents and she ”politely” asked us to leave and find accommodation elsewhere. And so we did. We have stayed in numerous hotels in Greece and abroad and this was the first time to get thrown out. All in all, a rather bad experience. P.S. Of course we had to walk another 15 min. in order to get our car from the parking lot...

Wonderful hotel on a hill with great view on the surrounding area from the rooms, the restaurant and the outside pool. The rooms are comfortable, not top level but with all comfort you need. The sundeck with outdoor pool is just amazing !! All very new and very nice, great service at the pool and the restaurant is just next to it with outdoor seating area close to the pool. Amazing views. The hotel also has a brand new indoor wellness area with sauna, steam bath, small indoor pool and area for massages. Very friendly personnel everywhere. Nice breakfast buffet with espresso coffee, good restaurant (not top level, but good), a bit slow service at the bar/restaurant, but overall very happy with our stay. This is the best hotel close to the Meteora region (just 30 minutes drive). Highly recommended, we would for sure come back if we visit this area again.

We booked three double rooms for three day trip and the beautiful town of Trikala but unfortunately an accident happened to one of the couples. The hotel according to their policy agreed to return the already paid one day deposit to the couple which had the accident, but not to the other ones. Thereafter we called them one day before arrival there for discussing our options including and accepting a higher cost for transferring the booking one month later for not losing our deposits or staying there for one day making use of our deposit. The lady on the phone late in the afternoon the day before, said that generally their policy does not include transferring the booking, but she’s going to discuss it with the owner and come back to us. She never called back and when we were up to start our journey the day after the hotel I called them and they said that they had already booked our rooms to other customers. From that point and then we change several emails in which the first that we had cancelled the rooms that had never happened verbally or written and after some emails they stated that we didn’t accept the increased price for transferring the booking. I know that it sounds crazy, but this is all true. One of the proofs of my sayings is that the day of arrival they called us later to tell us that they booked us in another room in a remote village that they were not obviously obliged to do if we had cancelled the rooms ourselves as they stated. Please contact them only via email or keep proof of your conversations with them because there is a high risk of misbehaviour.
